‘General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Serenades His Wife Paula in Rare Video
Sonny Corinthos exudes charm, and so does Maurice Benard! The General Hospital legend has been traveling this summer for soap events across the country, and he gave fans an inside look at some downtime with his wife, Paula Benard.
Maurice has been happily married to his wife since 1990. The soap actor tends to post mainly on his Instagram page about his State of Mind podcast and upcoming events, but on July 16, he shared a video featuring his beloved.
In the video, Maurice can be seen singing “Too Much Heaven” by the Bee Gees in his hotel room. He sweetly walks over to his bathroom, where Paula is getting ready, and continues to recite the love song’s lyrics. He has “true love” written over the top of the video.
Paula sweetly smiles at her man as he sings in front of her. Maurice makes sure to croon out “love is such a beautiful thing” right in front of her.
“I’ll say it again, the @generalhospitalabc audience is the most loyal audience in the world. Me and my son have been having a blast I’ll be in Boston Wednesday and then going to Atlanta if you want to see some incredible singing like you just saw with my wife, we laugh we dance we sing what more do you want?” he captioned the video.
The longtime couple will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary on August 11. Two years ago, Maurice sweetly wrote a heartfelt message about his love for Paula. “Sometimes you meet someone and you have no idea that this person is going to save your life many times over,” he wrote at the time. “Who is going to build a life that you could never have dreamed of. through the highs and lows through the peaks and valleys, what I have learned is, we will always have each other!”
After nearly four decades together, the Benards have four children and three grandchildren that they cherish. They’re enjoying every second of this life they share together.
