‘Match Me Abroad’ Preview: Harold’s Second Date With Amber Takes a Turn (VIDEO)
Harold is stepping out of his comfort zone on the July 20 episode of TLC’s Match Me Abroad.
Match Me Abroad follows six single people from America as they travel across the globe looking for love. One of these singles is Harold Davis II, a 43-year-old artist, inventor, and nuclear worker from New Mexico. “Dating in America hasn’t worked out for me, so I wish to go to Singapore to have my luck change,” Harold admitted. Once in Singapore, Harold met Dolly, an expert matchmaker who promised to help him put his “best foot forward for meeting [his] love.”
In Swooon‘s exclusive preview of the new Match Me Abroad episode, Harold ventures out on his second date with Amber, a Singaporean local. On their date, Amber introduces Harold to Singapore’s vibrant street food scene. To impress his date, Harold is ready to try it all!
Amber orders a “Singaporean Feast” consisting of buns, chili crab, and best of all, pig ears. When Harold tries the pig ears, he shares that the dish is “interesting.” As it turns out, he hasn’t even had the full pig ear experience yet because he hasn’t tried the cartilage. When asked to dive into the crunchy bits, he responds, “I was avoiding that, but okay.”
In case you were wondering, “pig ear tastes like crunchy Jello.” According to Harold, “It is slimy [and] it is smooth.” When it comes to the cartilage, Harold shares that the pieces are “unimaginably crunchy for being so soft as [cartilage] is.”
As Amber challenges Harold to try something new, she learns quite a bit about their connection. She reveals, “Harold seems very sweet and very gentle. But at the same time, he was not what I expected.” She adds, “Harold is a bit different, like, he’s much chubbier [and] shorter.” Even so, she shares, “I think it’s okay that I am not so sexually attracted to him. Sometimes sexual attraction can come at a later part.”
