‘Love Island USA’s Cierra Ortega Slams Ex Nic Over His Romance With Olandria

Love Island USA Season 7 may be officially over, but the drama keeps coming. After being sent home for using racist language in a past social media post, contestant Cierra Ortega is speaking out about her experience on the reality dating show — and about her villa ex, Nic Vansteenberghe.
Ortega was coupled up with Vansteenberghe for the majority of the season, but following her early exit in Episode 30, Vansteenberghe partnered with Olandria Carthen all the way up until the finale. After coming in second place, the two have been open about continuing their relationship post-show.
In a July 20 Instagram post, Ortega revealed that she left the States for a vacation in Greece. She also used the post to clap back at Vansteenberghe, claiming that he was disingenuous when they were together. “You look happier!” the caption reads. “Thanks, I booked a flight to Mykonos after surviving the villain edit on reality TV and I didn’t end up with the guy who never actually liked me and wanted my friend the entire time.”
In the video, the former contestant accessorizes her outfit while an audio that drives her point home plays in the background. “I didn’t even actually get to break up with him, and he’s already with the next girl,” it says.
Fans took to the comments to react to Ortega’s “villain edit” claim as well as her comments about Vansteenberghe and Carthen’s romance.
“It’s crazy to say you got a villain edit when in reality you were held accountable for your actions…” one wrote. Others were more supportive of the former Season 7 contestant. “If you would watch the first couple episodes before you came in, his eyes were already on O,” a viewer said. “This is love island not friend island babe, you’ll find your one. 🙌”
When Swooon asked Vansteenberghe if he’d spoken with Ortega since leaving the villa, the reality star confirmed that he hadn’t yet as of July 16. “I think it’s only been two days since I’ve been back, and I’m still taking the time to process everything that’s happening, not just with Cierra, but with the new life that we’re living,” he said. “So at this point I’m just taking that time.”
