Are ‘Building the Band’s Alison Ogden & Conor Smith Still Together? Updates After Showmance
Building the Band may not have been a dating show, but a romance still blossomed between two of the Season 1 cast members. Alison Ogden, of girl group Sweet Seduction, and Conor Smith, of boy band Midnight ‘Til Morning, struck up a romantic relationship during Episode 6 of the singing competition.
“I had a very lovely night,” Conor told his bandmates after going on a date with Alison. “We may have kissed. We went to bed at 5 a.m.” The guys were happy for him, but urged him to focus on the music instead of his love life. “Not date two tonight, my friend,” Mason Watts said. “You’re gonna have to wait until after the performance I think.”
After Conor showed up late to rehearsal the following day, the group had another chat, but Conor still went on to spend another night with Alison. The tension between the guys hit an all-time high, with Conor even threatening to leave the show. He ended up sticking around, but did his relationship with Alison last?

Are Conor Smith and Alison Ogden still together?
No, Conor and Alison are not together. Conor told Tudum that he and Alison took a trip to Paris together after the show, which was filmed in England, wrapped. However, he also confirmed that they don’t currently have a romantic relationship.
The two do follow each other on Instagram, so they appear to be on amicable terms, at least.
When five bands were left in the competition, Sweet Seduction and Midnight ‘Til Morning were in the bottom two, and the judges chose to save Midnight ‘Til Morning, which meant Sweet Seduction was eliminated. Conor immediately went over to hug Alison and questioned if she was okay. Midnight “Til Morning was sent home the following week.
When was Building the Band filmed?
The show was filmed during summer 2024, so it’s airing a full year after the artists competed. Filming wrapped in August 2024, just two months before judge Liam Payne died.
Which band won Building the Band?
Unfortunately, both Alison and Conor’s bands were eliminated before the finals on Building the Band. Alison and Sweet Seduction came in fifth place, while Conor and his boys finished in fourth place.
The finals came down to SZN4, 3QUENCY, and Iconyx (previously Soulidified). The judges eliminated Iconyx in third place, leaving SZN4 and 3QUENCY to go head-to-head in a final performance. The ladies of 3QUENCY were eventually declared the winners.
