‘Stranger Things’ Star Winona Ryder Makes Rare Comments About Boyfriend Scott Mackinlay Hahn
The world is already talking (and theorizing) about the final season of Stranger Things, but Netflix star Winona Ryder prefers to keep her personal life out of the public eye. Ryder has had many public romances over the years, but it wasn’t until she met Scott Mackinlay Hahn that she found the love of her life.
The couple met at the Black Swan premiere in 2010. The Loomstate cofounder accidentally mistook her for Milla Jovovich. In a rare interview, the notoriously private star opened up and shared new details about her relationship.
“I thought it was the most charming thing in the world,” Ryder told Elle about Hahn’s mix-up. She later searched for his phone number and contacted him. She recalled, “I was very direct. I was like, ‘Listen, do you want to go on a date?'”
They’ve been dating since 2011, and they have plans to get married, which would be a first for Ryder. The actress told the outlet that she already thinks of Hahn as her husband, and they’ll “marry before long.” She admitted that she was “never the girl who dreamt of a wedding” until now.
The Heathers star was asked whether she had ever considered having children. “There was a time that I was really thinking about it, but I hadn’t met Scott,” she said.
Ryder also admitted that she was “absolutely in love” with Al Pacino when they worked together. “We were doing that workshop for Richard III, which I didn’t know was gonna be a movie. I was actively in love with him,” she said. “He was obsessed with coffee, and he would take me all over New York – like, to the weirdest places – to try different coffees. I’m 22, or whatever. Finally, he’s dropping me off wherever I’m staying, and I’m like, ‘I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you.'”
Even though he turned her down, they’re still friends to this day. “I still play poker with him sometimes. It’s the best,” Ryder quipped.
