Dennis Quaid Makes Rare Comments About Marriage to Laura Savoie & Their 39-Year Age Gap
After five years of marriage, Dennis Quaid is more in love with wife Laura Savoie than ever. The actor opened up about their relationship in a new interview with Fox News Digital.
Despite a 39-year age gap (he’s 71 and she’s 32), Quaid and Savoie are managing to make their relationship work.
“My life is paradise,” he admitted. “Every day with her is paradise, it really is.” He called the romance “the closest relationship I’ve ever had with anybody,” and reiterated, “Every day is paradise.”
Quaid added, “What can I tell you? I don’t know why God had waited so long to bring her, for her to come along, but [I’m] really glad he brought her into my life, or I walked into hers.”
The couple was first linked in 2019 and got engaged that October after less than a year together. Around that time, Quaid addressed the age gap, telling The Guardian, “Everyone comes from the perspective of their own life, so I can’t comment on the way they feel. I can’t even get angry. I didn’t go out looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me. I met her at a business event and then the relationship developed. You have no control over who you fall in love with.”
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Quaid and Savoie had a low-key wedding in Santa Barbara in June 2020 with only their pastor present.
Prior to his relationship with Savoie, Quaid dated model Santa Auzina for three years. Before that, he was married three times. He wed his first wife, P.J. Soles, in 1978 and they stayed together until 1983. In 1991, he and Meg Ryan tied the knot. They welcomed a son, Jack Quaid (who is 33), the following year and separated in 2000. The Parent Trap star went on to tie the knot with Kimberly Buffington in 2004. They had twin sons in 2007 and separated in 2016.
He also dated Shanna Moakler in 2001.
