Who Is ‘Today’ Host Craig Melvin’s Wife? All About His Marriage to Lindsay Czarniak
Craig Melvin is best known as co-anchor of Today, but when he’s not behind the news desk, he’s also a very dedicated family man. Melvin has been married to wife Lindsay Czarniak since October 2011.
“I think in marriage, I’ve been coachable,” Melvin told People in January. “And God bless her. She puts up with a lot. When you’re husband’s getting up for work at 0 dark 30 and he’s not always that quiet and sometimes the phone rings in the middle of the night … she has put up with a lot for a long time.”

What does Lindsay Czarniak do for a living?
Like Melvin, Czarniak is in the broadcast journalism field. She is a sports anchor and reporter and has worked for Fox Sports since 2019. She is a studio host for the network’s NASCAR coverage, as well as an NFL sideline reporter.
Czarniak previously worked at ESPN from 2011 to 2017. She took over as cohost of the 6 p.m. Sportscenter broadcast in 2012 and stayed with the network until her contract expired in 2017.
Additionally, Czarniak covered the 2008 Olympics for NBC Sports. She worked at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. from 2005 until 2011, when she left to join ESPN.
Czarniak is also a minority interest racehorse owner and starred on A Stake in Stardom in 2023. She invested in a 4-year-old thoroughbred racehorse with Ian Rapoport and appeared on the show, which gives new thoroughbred owners the opportunity to experience the sport of thoroughbred racing at events such as the Kentucky Derby.
How did Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak meet?
The couple met while they were both working at WRC-TV in D.C. He joined the staff in 2008 while she was away covering the Olympics. Upon Czarniak’s return, the two became friends, and eventually shared their first kiss after he drove her home from a charity gala she was hosting.
“That night when we met, there was something that clicked,” she admitted to The Washington Post in 2011. “And it wasn’t necessarily that I knew, ‘I have to be with this guy.’ But it was like, ‘I don’t want to be with anyone else that I’d hung out with.’ It felt like being with the person that really gets you and that you’ve known for a really, really long time.”
The two began casually dating for about six months, but Czarniak ended things when Melvin wanted the relationship to get more serious. “He basically was like, ‘Either you’re in or you’re out.’ And I was like, ‘Then I’m out — ’cause I can’t be in,'” she recalled. When he pursued her again a few months later, though, she gave their relationship another go. They started officially dating in October 2009.
Do Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak have kids?
Yes, they’re parents to two children. Their son Delano “Del” Melvin was born in 2014, followed by daughter Sybil “Sibby” Melvin in 2016.

The family lives in Westport, Connecticut. They moved to Connecticut in 2015 and purchased their current home there in 2021, per Realtor.com.
