What Happened to ‘The Bachelorette’ Winner Shawn Booth? His Life 10 Years Later
In 2015, Shawn Booth proposed to Kaitlyn Bristowe during the Season 11 finale of The Bachelorette. They began building a life together and were in a relationship for more than three years before announcing their split in November 2018.

What is Shawn Booth doing now?
Booth owns the gym BC Block in Nashville, Tennessee. The facility is meant to “elevate your fitness experience,” according to Instagram. He is very active in the fitness community.
Additionally, the former reality star is the host of the In the Booth podcast, although he hasn’t posted a new episode since September 2024. In 2025, he started a YouTube channel where he posts fitness videos.
Does Shawn Booth have a baby?
Yes, Booth became a dad to a son named Locks in December 2023. He shares the toddler with Dre Joseph, a photographer whom he first met five years earlier when she was hired to take pictures of him at his gym.

“Mom is an absolute rockstar & did incredible!” he gushed on Instagram at the time of Locks’ birth. “Everything went super smooth and we couldn’t be more grateful. Best feeling in the world.”
Are Shawn Booth and Dre Joseph still together?
Yes, although they keep their romance fairly private, Booth and Joseph do appear to still be together. In December 2024, they celebrated Locks’ birthday together, and wrote in a joint Instagram post, “The best year of our lives! We love you so much Locks Booth!!!!”

“The mother is somebody who I’ve been close with for years,” Booth shared when he announced the baby news in 2023. “We’ve had a relationship and we’ve dated. This just isn’t some random girl I met at Honky Tonk Central.”
While he said the baby “wasn’t something that was planned,” he called Joseph’s pregnancy “the most beautiful surprise I’ve ever had in my life.”
Why did Shawn Booth and Kaitlyn Bristowe split?
Months after Booth and Bristowe announced their breakup, she confirmed on the LadyGang podcast, “He left me.” She added, “He didn’t know why he couldn’t love me. I just think the show was too hard for someone to get over. I don’t know, that’s what I’m going off of.”
In 2023, she opened up about the breakup again on then-fiancé Jason Tartick‘s podcast (she and Tartick have since split as well). “It was, like, getting down to the end where we both just didn’t see it going anywhere,” Bristowe admitted. “But it felt like he was hanging on until his gym opened, and that’s where I felt used.”

Bristowe reiterated these feelings in 2025 during a conversation on her own podcast. She said she felt like Booth was “hanging on to the relationship to open his gym” and “felt like he knew that us together was better than him on his own.” She also attributed “so much toxic back and forth” between the two as a reason for the split.
“We met each other at our insecurities instead of calming the other one down or helping or understanding or hearing the other person. We would meet them at their anger level,” Bristowe explained.
The exes did not communicate for several years after the split, which Booth said was because he received a text from Bristowe that was meant for Tartick right after the breakup. “When we had broken up, the last time I saw her, I was like, ‘I don’t want to talk to you or see you ever again,'” he admitted on his podcast in 2023 “I said that out of the situation that happened and how I found out [about her and Tartick]. That’s where it was kind of left off, so I did not really have any communication with her for years.”
However, he confirmed that he and Bristowe had sent a few texts to each other after that falling out. They also both still live in Nashville and almost ran into each other at a comedy show.
Bristowe recently did a rewatch of her season of The Bachelorette and had several guys from the show come on her podcast to discuss the episodes. She confirmed that Booth was in the mix to appear on a rewatch episode, but ultimately he was too wishy-washy with nailing down a date to do it.
