‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’: Is Taylor Pregnant? Why We’re Buying Into This Fan Theory (POLL)

The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s third season has certainly stirred up plenty of theories, especially surrounding which Fisher brother Belly (Lola Tung) will end up with, but there’s one that has begun to grow since the latest episode, “Last Stand,” which suggests that Taylor (Rain Spencer) could be pregnant.
Before you write it off, hear us out. As viewers have seen so far this season, Taylor has engaged in an on-again, off-again relationship with her best friend’s brother, Steven (Sean Kaufman). After a four-year time jump, the duo was engaging in an affair behind their significant others’ backs. Things were messy and got messier when a fight led Steven to get into an accident.
Considering the fleeting nature of life, Taylor decided she was going to commit to him, only for Steven to tell her he was done with their relationship after waking up from the accident-induced coma. But the story of Steven and Taylor feels far from over.

While Taylor seemed to attempt to sway Steven back toward their relationship when she visited Belly at the Conklin house, her lack of success caused her mom, Lucinda (Kristen Connolly), to call Steven for help with her business, thinking she could play matchmaker. The call backfired, though, because Steven discovered financial problems and called Taylor to let her know.
This alerted Taylor to her mother’s lack of attention to her financial situation, which left her to take charge of getting her mom back on track. As Taylor helped her mom, Lucinda complained that she was the mom, not Taylor, and was upset when she learned Taylor gave up her New York City internship to stick around and resolve the problem.
The comment about Lucinda being the mom led to an interesting look from Taylor. And while we’re only just learning Taylor’s mother-daughter dynamic with Lucinda, fans are theorizing about Taylor’s recent moodiness and more, as outlined in the TikTok embedded below.

If this theory were to come true, it would put Steven and Taylor in a similar position as their parents, it would seem, as Laurel (Jackie Chung) and John’s (Colin Ferguson) marriage came together quickly after she found out she was pregnant with Steven, and Taylor’s mom was clearly a young mom.
Narratively, it would force the characters to face similar predicaments their parents found themselves in, but give them a chance to handle them differently.
