‘Big Brother 21’ Alum Ovi Kabir Marries College Sweetheart in 2-Day Wedding
Ovi Kabir and Hannah Blackwell are housemates and soulmates forever! The Big Brother 21 star said “I do” to Blackwell in a two-day ceremony starting on August 1 in Sevierville, Tennessee. Kabir proposed in February 2024.
The couple met while attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville over eight years ago. They crossed paths when Kabir sent an email to his class, including Blackwell, inviting them to group study sessions ahead of their final exam. He sent a second email to just Blackwell and included his phone number. And the rest is history!
During their first day of wedding celebrations, Kabir and Blackwell had a Bangladeshi Gaye Holud. They donned traditional Punjabis and lehengas for their pre-wedding party, which included a turmeric blessing ceremony, according to People. The next day, the couple tied the knot in front of nearly 200 guests, including Big Brother alums Kat Dunn, Tommy Bracco, Cliff Hogg, and Nicole Fontanez.
“We met at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, so East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains are the birthplace of our love story,” the couple said in a statement to People. “Over the last eight and a half years, this region has been filled with memories. From late-night study sessions to weekend drives through the mountains, it only felt right to return to a place that already felt like home … it felt like the perfect spot to celebrate love, culture and community.”
When Blackwell, a content creator, walked down the aisle, Patrick Doyle’s “Harry in Winter” track from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire played. The newlyweds’ first dance was to Panic! At The Disco’s “The End of All Things.”
Kabir and Blackwell are headed to Conrad Punta de Mita in Mexico for their honeymoon. When they return to the United States, they’ll start looking for a permanent home.
Kabir was one of houseguests of Big Brother 21. He was evicted in Week 1. The couple will appear on Family Recipe Showdown on Food Network later this year.
