‘Welcome to Plathville’ Preview: Ethan Wants Lydia to Reject Zac’s Proposal (VIDEO)
The entire Plath family has gathered to watch Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse get engaged, but not everyone is thrilled about the proposal. In Swooon‘s exclusive preview of the August 12 episode of Welcome to Plathville, Ethan Plath has a surprising reaction to his little sister’s engagement.
But first, let’s back up a bit. When Lydia arrives at Zac’s proposal spot, she knows what’s about to happen. “The moment I see Zac, I know exactly why he’s here, and I just can’t believe it,” she says.
Meanwhile, Zac can’t stop smiling. He watches as Lydia hugs all of her family members, who are there to witness the joyous moment, before heading over to Zac. “I just kept smiling bigger and bigger just because that’s totally Lydia. Like, that’s totally her,” he gushes.
Lydia walks over to Zac and embraces him. He sweetly twirls her around before he pops the question. “You are the love of my life, and you are so special to me. I have been so blessed with the joy of knowing you and… I’m shaking,” a nervous Zac says to Lydia.
He gets down on one knee, and Lydia begins to cry. “Oh, I should pull out the ring,” Zac notes. From a distance, Ethan watches the proposal and utters, “Please say no.” As he continues to watch the moment unfold, he adds, “God, she’s gonna say yes.”
Ethan hasn’t been on board with Lydia and Zac’s relationship. Upon learning that Zac got Barry Plath‘s blessing to propose, Ethan told the cameras, “What the f**k? You meet a guy for three months, and you tell me you’re going to get married?” The older Plath sibling acknowledged that Zac makes Lydia “happy,” but their relationship has been “pretty quick.”
Lydia and Zac got married in February 2025, just two months after getting engaged. Their wedding was also the place of the couple’s first kiss!
