‘Wednesday’ Star Hunter Doohan Makes Rare Comments About His Husband & Their Love Story

Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) took a monstrous turn in Wednesday Season 1 and returned in Season 2 “ready to pillage the world” with Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). Thankfully, in real life, Doohan doesn’t have the Hyde monster to contend with.

The Your Honor star is happily married to his husband, Fielder Jewett. While promoting Wednesday Season 2, Doohan opened up about his love life in a rare interview.

“We met like 10 years ago on Tinder. We’ve been together for a while,” Doohan said on the Zach Sang Show about meeting his husband. They said “I do” in 2022. “I’ve basically been with him almost my whole adult life, really. We’ve gone through so much together, like highs in each of our lives. He’s been there for me at my lowest points, too.”

While filming Season 2 of Wednesday, Jewett was able to come to Ireland and stay with Doohan. He had just graduated from law school. “He got to come out and study for the bar from there, so he got to be out there with us, hanging out for like four or five months. Now he’s like working all the time, and I’m going to New Zealand for three months.”

Host Zach Sang asked the actor if it’s been difficult to be out in Hollywood. “I’ve never really known it any other way because I’ve kind of been out of the closet since I was 18,” Doohan said. However, when he tested for Your Honor, the actor admitted that he tried to “hide” his relationship during the casting process, which led to have to “come out again” when he was on set. “That was so unsettling and awful, that I was like, I’m never gonna do that for a role again,” he vowed.

The couple announced they were engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2020. “Is there anything more 2020 than an at-home proposal? I love you @fielderjewett! Can’t wait to marry you!” Doohan wrote on Instagram.
