Madison Reyes is standing on the edge of parenthood!

The Julie and the Phantoms star let fans in on a “very, very big secret” through a series of August 12 Instagram posts. The 21-year-old actress shared a photo of herself at Washington D.C.’s Otakon convention. Reyes wore a Sims costume with a plumbob (aka the diamond that floats above a Sims character) headband, but she drew users’ attention to something else: her baby bump!

“Went to @otakonpics this weekend and knew it would be the perfect way to announce that this sim is expecting!! @thesims,” she wrote in the caption. She also included a Sims-esque notification on the photo itself, which reads: “Eating for Two! Congratulations! Madison is expecting! There’s going to be a new addition to this household.”

In a follow-up video, Reyes provided more details on her major life update. Her pregnancy is the reason that she’s unable to attend Munich’s Waves Convention in-person, which covers the world of Julie and the Phantoms and Descendants, this November. She also prefaced the news by warning haters to stay away from the comments.

“If anybody has anything negative to say, you will be blocked, reported, and deleted. And Jadah [Marie Johnson] will get on you because double trouble don’t play,” she added, referring to her JATP costar. Marie played Julie’s bestie, Flynn, in the 2020 Netflix show.

She went on to address her fanbase, calling them her “lovely aunties and uncles,” and thanked them for being respectful. “Yes, this is very real,” Reyes continued. “This is very true. Thank you to everybody who respected me and my time. Anybody who kind of expected anything… I kinda kept it down low, low-key. To all of the people that thought they were right, you were right. Period.”

“This is why I love you guys. You guys let me enjoy my engagement, and I’ve just been getting ready for this little bean to arrive,” she said. In a July TikTok video, the actress announced that she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Shaun Scudder. He’s been featured on Reyes’ social media as far back as 2023.

Reyes revealed that her due date is roughly three months away, around the time she was planning to appear at Waves Convention. Reyes joked that she hopes she “delivers looks virtually” instead of literally delivering before the event. Until then, the actress has plans to share more about her journey to motherhood. “I really hope that you guys are so happy for a little Maddy to come into this world,” she concluded.

Some of her JATP family were quick to share their support for Reyes, including creator Kenny Ortega. “Hi Madison 👋🏼 Wait! How extraordinary! Love, Light, and All my Best Wishes Mama!!! ❤️🫢,” he wrote. One of her onscreen bandmates, Owen Joyner, also chimed in. “Wow! Congratulations Mads. We love you ❤️❤️,” said the actor, who appears in the show as ghostly drummer Alex.
