‘General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Celebrates 35th Wedding Anniversary & Shares Rare Photos of Wife
Only one woman has captured Maurice Benard‘s heart: his wife, Paula Benard. The General Hospital veteran married his longtime love on August 11, 1990, and he made sure to celebrate his 35th wedding anniversary with a loving note to his wife.
While Maurice has been the star of General Hospital as Sonny Corinthos for three decades, Paula has been by his side every step of the way. The Daytime Emmy winner is just in love with his wife as he was when they met, and he gushed about how grateful he is for her support.
“It’s our anniversary What does that mean?” Maurice wrote on Instagram. “It means being with someone for 40 years. Who has never wavered always there for me and our children. Has never made me feel small when in need always says to me (you are stronger than you know) Thank You sweetheart, for being the rock and holding it all together.”

Maurice shared rare photos of him and wife through the years. From the early days of their relationship to family moments, Maurice and Paula have had so many wonderful memories together.
The actor’s GH costars praised Paula in the comments section. Kimberly McCullough, who plays Robin, wrote, “Paula- ICON.” Rebecca Budig, who played Hayden on the soap, commented, “Amazing. Congratulations!” Rick Hearst, who plays Sonny’s half-brother Ric, added, “The queen! Happy Anniversary Mo! Many more.”
Sarah Brown, who was the first actress to play Carly, Sonny’s on-again, off-again love interest, wrote, “Love you both! Congratulations on standing together. Beautiful pictures.” Eva LaRue, who recently left GH after playing Natalia for over a year, gushed, “THE Original Super Couple! Happyyyyy Anniversary.”
Maurice and Paula have four children together. They also adopted Paula’s younger half-sister, Heather, when she was 15 years old. The couple lives on a ranch together in California, which recently got a visit from Maurice’s former costar and onscreen love interest, Vanessa Marcil.
