Is Bob Harper Married? What We Know About His Relationship With Anton Gutierrez
Bob Harper is returning to television screens as part of the upcoming docuseries Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser. The three-episode Netflix series will look back on The Biggest Loser, the controversial weight loss show Harper worked on as a trainer for Seasons 1 to 16 and host for Seasons 17 and 18.
Harper publicly came out as gay during an episode of The Biggest Loser in 2013 when a contestant, Bobby Saleem, opened up about struggling with his own sexual identity.
“I totally understand what you’re talking about,” the fitness guru said at the time. “I totally get it. I’m gay. I knew a very long time ago that I was gay, and the family that I grew up around was very much the same in that way — you know, there was so much repression there. I think that when I came out, when I was 17 years old, it was one of those kind of things where I realized there were so many obstacles. But being gay doesn’t mean being weak; being gay doesn’t mean that you are less than anybody else. It’s just who you are.”

Does Bob Harper have a husband?
It’s unclear if Harper is married, but he got engaged to longtime love Anton Gutierrez in June 2019. He confirmed the news on Instagram by sharing photos of their matching rings with the caption, “Well this happened yesterday. A great combination of @cartier & @viacarota #loveislove #pantherring.”

By early 2020, the men had not started wedding planning yet. “You know what sounds great? Eloping,” he told Page Six at the time. “Just, like, eloping and having a party. I’m not going to walk down some aisle, you know. I’m not going to do that.”
Harper’s decision to propose to Gutierrez came after he had a heart attack in 2017. “Before my heart attack, I’d never really thought about getting married,” he admitted to People. “Of course, I grew up at a time when gay marriage was not allowed, and so in the back of my mind for the longest time, I just thought, ‘You know what? I’m just not supposed to be married.’ Then going through my journey and having Anthony be there with me through the toughest time, I came to that realization of, ‘You know what? I do want to be married to him and for us to share a life.’ Why not? We’re all equal.'”

At the time of that November 2020 interview, he said they were still planning to elope, but he hasn’t publicly given an update since.
How long have Bob Harper and Anton Gutierrez been together?
The men have been together since at least 2016. That year, Harper appeared on an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now, and his partner joined him. “He is a great sous-chef,” Harper said at the time. “He does everything that I tell him to do.”

No, Harper does not have children, but he does refer to himself as a “dad” to his dogs Karl, Vivienne, and Ralph.

Harper was previously in a seven-year relationship with Justin Anderson, a hair stylist who has appeared on shows including Very Cavallari and Honestly Cavallari.
The men appear to be on good terms now, as Harper appeared on Anderson’s podcast in 2019. “Tears were rolling down my face recording this very intimate, emotional, and often funny podcast,” he gushed on social media. “I love you, Justin.
