Turns out, Taylor Swift never received Travis Kelce‘s friendship bracelet—yes, you read that right.

Ever since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first crossed paths in 2023, Swifties and NFL fans alike have been eagerly awaiting the couple’s red carpet debut, official relationship updates, and—well, just about any other Easter eggs they will give us. Who could have predicted that their first official appearance as a couple would be on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights?

On August 13, Swift made her podcast debut on New Heights, hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce, to announce her 12th studio album, beginning the sparkly orange and mint green era of The Life of a Showgirl.

During the debut, Swift sat beside Travis Kelce to thank her “favorite podcast” for getting her a boyfriend (note that she didn’t say fiancé, sorry Tayvis engagement truthers). She stated, “This podcast has done a lot for me. I owe a lot to this podcast… ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app, about two years ago.” Of course, she was referring to when he gave her a shoutout on the very same podcast in July 2023 after attending the Eras tour and revealing he had hoped to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it after the show.

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift performs onstage during The 1989 World Tour Live In Los Angeles at Staples Center on August 21, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

While many know that Swift and Kelce met through the magic of a friendship bracelet, Swift revealed that she never received that infamous token of Kelce’s affection. According to Kelce, those bracelets “didn’t leave the stadium because [he] was butthurt” because he could not meet Swift.

As Swift put it, Kelce “threw a man tantrum” even though he didn’t go through any of the proper channels to meet her at the Eras Tour. Her team didn’t even know he was there because he thought his connections to Arrowhead Stadium would get him the face-to-face time he wanted with the pop star, which didn’t end up being the case.

Once Kelce’s recap of his Eras Tour experience went viral, Swift saw it as “a wild romantic gesture to just be like, I want to date you.” She even likened the gesture to a John Hughes movie, stating, “This kind of felt more like I was in an ’80s John Hughes movie, and he was just like, standing outside of my window with a boom box.”

Later in the podcast, Kelce revealed that he believes Swift is both the greatest songwriter of all time and the smartest woman in the world. Talk about swoon!
