Who Is Jim Jefferies’ Wife? All About the Comedian’s Marriage to ‘House of Anubis’ Star
Jim Jefferies doesn’t shy away from mentioning his wife in his stand-up. In fact, the Australian comedian brings her up minutes into his latest Netflix special, Two Limb Policy.
“The comedy has to come from somewhere,” the 48-year-old said on The Viall Files podcast earlier this summer. “So we all have to earn a living here, right? That’s why everyone’s like, ‘my wife’ jokes or ‘my mother-in-law’ jokes, ’cause where else do the jokes come from?”
Naturally, we got curious about who the comedian — who also hosts Fox’s The Snake reality game show — shares his life with. We found out that she’s no stranger to the entertainment industry, either. Here’s everything we know about Tasie Lawrence and her love story with Jefferies.
Who is Tasie Lawrence?
Lawrence was born in Brighton, England, to Rebecca Sinnatt and Derek Dhanraj. She penned a tribute to her father, who died earlier this year, on Instagram. “My Daddy was the most supportive smiley Daddy and he loved me, my mum and sister deeply,” she said, referring to her sibling, Tasha Dhanraj, who works as a comedy writer. “I love you forever Daddy.”
The 34-year-old actress, whose full name is Anastasia Katya Breezy Dhanraj, also doubles as a musician. She studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guilford, eventually signing with Island Records. She used to be part of a pop rock band called the WooWoos, but she left wanting to take her career in another direction.
She may be best known for playing Mara Jeffray during House of Anubis‘ 2011-2013 run, but she’s appeared in a number of other projects since it ended. Her credits include Fox’s The Resident, BET’s First Wives Club, and Snoop Dog’s 2021 movie DOMINO: Battle of the Bones.
How long have Jim Jefferies and Tasie Lawrence been together?
The couple met in Los Angeles in 2018. When they appeared together on The Viall Files, Jefferies revealed that they connected on the high-profile dating app Raya. “We went on Raya, we went on a date, and we actually just lived like 500 meters away from each other. I think she wouldn’t have gone on more dates with me if I wasn’t so accessible,” he joked. “Because I was local, she was like, ‘I’ll give him another go.'”
Jefferies launched into the story of one of their first dates, describing how he wanted to chat with her beforehand to see if they had banter. “I tried to ring her about four times. It rang out, she didn’t answer, I assume the date wasn’t happening,” he said, explaining that he then started drinking with his buddies.
Lawrence explained that her lack of response was due to spotty cell service. When she did return Jefferies’ call, she told him that she’d take some tequila shots to catch up. They met up at The Den on Sunset, where they kissed half an hour into the date.
The couple tied the knot two years later. They married at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lawrence marked the occasion with an Instagram post, which she captioned “Married my best friend ❤️.”

What has Jim Jefferies said about his wife?
“Oh, he says brutal things about me,” Lawrence said on The Viall Files. She provided an anecdote: Jefferies once asked people in the audience to yell out “racist homophobe” when they walked by his wife on the street. “We were in Vegas last weekend and he did that bit,” she said. “So we’re walking through the casino, and I had a bunch of people shouting ‘racist homophobe.’ And I was like, people are going to think I’m legit a racist.”
She also doesn’t often give Jefferies feedback when he’s running through his material. “He runs jokes by me sometimes, and I don’t laugh, and he’s like ‘You don’t get it.'”
But it’s all in good fun. “I’m not offended at all,” Lawrence said. “It doesn’t bother me. Like, he says really brutal stuff, and we’re still here.”
In fact, the couple are head-over-heels for each other, according to a May 2023 interview with Australia’s 7NEWS. “He makes me laugh more than anyone. I get to laugh every day,” she said. “But he’s also just the sweetest, loveliest person I’ve ever met… I am obsessed with him.”
Jefferies echoed her. “My wife is the sweetest lady in the world… I am very lucky,” he said. “The best thing that ever happened to me was meeting this one.”
They’ve also opened up about their 13-year age gap, saying that they have a common interest in ’90s music. Jefferies also revealed that he introduced his wife to Back to the Future.

The couple welcomed their first son, Charlie, in 2021. “Happy Anniversary to the best husband and father out there,” Lawrence wrote that same year on Instagram. “One of the reasons I fell in love with you was because you were such a wonderful Dad to your first born, so It was a no brainer to have little Charlie with the best Dad there is.”
