‘Perfect Match’: Are Lucy Syed & Daniel Perfetto Still Together After Winning Season 3?
Lucy Syed and Daniel Perfetto were voted the winners of Perfect Match Season 3 during the finale, which was released on Friday, August 15. After they finished in the top two during the final compatibility challenge alongside AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland, the majority of their castmates voted for them as the perfect match of the season.
Following their win, Lucy and Daniel declared that they were going to take their seven-day vacation grand prize in Fiji (they later changed the location to Zanzibar). But with him hailing from Canada and her from the U.K., were they able to make their love last? Scroll down for the latest updates.
Are Lucy Syed and Daniel Perfetto still together?
No, Lucy and Daniel have split since filming ended. In fact, an update card at the end of the finale episode revealed that they broke up just “a few weeks” after being named the winners of the show.
“Daniel and I … just friends,” Lucy told Swooon. “Um, no bad blood, no bad vibes. Just, yeah, just friends.”
She expanded on the split during her August 21 appearance on The Viall Files podcast. Lucy explained that she, Daniel, and some castmates went on a trip to Cancun after filming, then she and Daniel were together for three weeks or a month after that before they called it quits. She was the one to suggest breaking up, but said he agreed and knew it was the best decision.
“It was going to turn really toxic,” Lucy admitted. “I was like…this is going to turn into a really toxic relationship. At the time, I was working at a nightclub. I don’t anymore, but I was then. I was like, I’m working at the club still, we’re in different countries, different time zones. I think I turned my read receipts off and he was like, ‘Oh, no, can you put them back on?’ He wouldn’t like it turned off. He wanted a reply instantly. I was just like, this is going to turn bad. It’s just not going to be good.” (In his portion of The Viall Files interview, Daniel insisted about the read receipts, “No, I don’t need that.”)
Another red flag was when they were in the airport after the Cancun trip and he pulled her top up, saying, “Hmm, let’s cover you up.” She also recalled a similar situation in the villa when Daniel made a comment about how she likes wearing short dresses.
The two never ended up going on the trip they received from the show. Lucy said she hoped AD and Ollie would get gifted the trip instead.
Since the breakup, she and Daniel “briefly” saw each other at a summer event for Netflix. “We literally barely spoke,” Lucy shared. “We said hello and that was kind of it. He did message me to apologize. He’s obviously watched it all. But I didn’t reply.”
Lucy is now dating someone who’s not in the reality television universe and she said he’s “very, very, very private.” Daniel is also in a relationship that he’s going to “keep a little bit private for now,” as well. However, he confirmed that she’s also not a public figure.
Are any Perfect Match Season 3 couples still together?
Aside from AD and Ollie, none of the other couples on Perfect Match Season 3 stayed together.
In addition to the winners and runner-ups, the other three final couples were: Rachel Recchia and Ray Grantt, Sandy Gallagher and Louis Russell, and Madison and Freddie Powell.
