‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Star John Sansone Announces Shocking Split From Claire Dinette
Forever just wasn’t meant to be for Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 couple John Sansone and Claire Dinette. Just months after the Season 3 finale, Sansone confirmed his split from his final pick, Claire Dinette, on August 16.
Sansone released a statement that revealed when they broke up — and it was very recent. The former couple just attended Lollapalooza in early August.
“I would like to share that Claire and I ended our relationship shortly after Lollapalooza, over a week ago,” Sansone’s Instagram statement began. “This was a mutual decision based on private challenges, and had nothing to do with any reposts. While I’ll always appreciate and respect the time we shared together, I feel it’s best to move forward separately. While our relationship was public, I wish for this chapter to remain as private as possible. Thank you for your kindness and support.”
Dinette reposted Sansone’s post to her Instagram Story and wrote, “I ain’t reading all that but ditto.” A day before Sansone shared his statement, Dinette posted a cryptic TikTok that hinted at the breakup.

She lip-synced the following lyrics to Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Don’t Smile” track: Don’t smile because it happened, baby, cry because it’s over (I want you to miss me, I want you to miss me).” She included the #FarmerWantsAWife hashtag and wrote over the video, “How it feels being Sabrina Carpenter’s SECOND biggest fan.”
Swooon spoke with Sansone and Dirette after the May finale about their future plans. They were enjoying having no “pressure whatsoever.” Sansone said, “The night after the finale, we were just talking, and we’re like, ‘Let’s just give this a try to see how it goes. Don’t put any expiration dates. Don’t put any requirements on it, just go at it day by day. I think that’s just one of the secrets to the success of our relationship.”
Sansone’s breakup with Dirette marks the latest Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 split. Jay Woods and Colton Hendricks are no longer with their final picks. Hendricks already has a new girlfriend. It’s unclear if Matt Warren and Chelsi Davis are still together.
