What Happened to ’The Bachelor’ Season 8 Lead Dr. Travis Stork? His Life 19 Years Later
In 2006, Travis Stork looked for love on Season 8 of The Bachelor in the midst of his residency. He ended the show with his final pick, Sarah Stone, but their relationship did not last long after the show aired.

What is Dr. Travis Stork doing now?
Stork lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and is an emergency room doctor. However, in June 2024, he revealed on the Almost Famous podcast that he was on a sabbatical. In a follow-up interview in August 2025, he explained, “I’m working on a few things in the health space, entrepreneurially, but primarily, as you know, the job number one, two, and three right now is daddy.” (More on his personal life below.)
From 2008 to 2020, Stork was host of the daytime talk show The Doctors. He won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Informative in 2010 for his role on the show.
Is Travis Stork a real doctor?
Yes, Stork completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, then graduated from medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Is Travis Stork married?
Stork has been married to Parris Bell since 2019. She is 20 years Stork’s junior (as of publication, he is 53, and she is 33) and works as a lawyer in Nashville. They were together for three years before their wedding.

Like Stork, Bell was a Vanderbilt alum, and they were set up on a blind date by Chris Strandburg, who was actually on Season 11 of The Bachelorette with Kaitlyn Bristowe. “Chris came on The Doctors to do a few dental health tips, came on a few different times, I became friends with him,” Stork explained. “He lived in Nashville, and he set me and my wife up on a date, and here we are.”
Prior to Bell, Stork was married to Charlotte Brown, a pediatrician, from 2012 to 2015. They started dating in 2009 and got engaged in May 2011 before their July 2012 wedding in Colorado.
Does Travis Stork have kids?
Stork and Bell welcomed their son, Grayson, in 2020.
“Grayson Lane Stork was born at 1:10am early this morning,” The Bachelor alum shared on Instagram at the time. “He’s long at 22 inches and 8 lbs 6 oz. He had some trouble breathing due to meconium in his lungs so he’s still in the ICU but he’s doing great! He’s so very sweet and his mom was an absolute rockstar. I know everyone says when you see your first born it changes you. For me, it was seeing Grayson together with his mother. That’s my family. My team. And I couldn’t be more blessed!”

In June 2022, they added to the family when Bell gave birth to daughter Dylan. “A Stork delivered a healthy baby girl last night. Mom and Dylan Avery are doing great! #blessed,” Stork shared.
“Dad is kind of my new identity,” he said on Almost Famous. “I started a family later in life and in many ways it probably is because The Bachelor causes so much confusion.”
What happened between Travis Stork and Sarah Stone?
Stork did not propose to Stone during The Bachelor finale. However, they left the show as a couple when filming ended in November 2005. On February 27, 2006, they were able to go public with their romance following the airing of their season’s finale, but they announced their split one week later.
Although Stork and Stone both lived in Nashville at the time, they were kept apart as the show was airing, and it took a toll on their romance.
“You’re in Paris and you’re part of this incredible experience, this fantasy world, and then suddenly you come back to Nashville, and living in the same city, I think we thought was going to be a great thing,” Stork told The Tennesseean, per CBS News. “But instead, you’re forced to pretend you don’t know someone, for essentially, the last four months.
Stone added that she believed things “would’ve worked out differently” had she and Stork been able to date normally after the show. “We wouldn’t have had all the baggage that comes from being on this show,” she explained. “It would just be the two of us being able to hang out and get to know each other in a normal situation.”
