Is ‘Bachelor in Paradise’s New Money Twist Helping or Hurting the Show? (POLL)

After taking a year off, Bachelor in Paradise returned for Season 10 with a brand-new twist. This year, the show became about more than just finding love, as the couples found out there’s also a $500,000 cash prize on the line.
In the past, new singles were brought to the beach throughout the entire BiP process, which meant opportunities for new couples to form week-by-week. However, this season, the new additions stopped after Week 4, and the remaining contestants were coupled up with their partner from that point moving forward.
Whether the relationship is romantic or not, the remaining couples have been putting their compatibility to the test with weekly challenges. The winner is guaranteed a rose, while the other pairs are in jeopardy of going home. For the past two weeks, the rest of the cast voted for who they thought should be eliminated, and that person’s partner also got sent home.
The new format has been a bit controversial. While some fans are into the Love Island and Bachelor Pad-esque twist, others are worried that it’s starting to make the show less about finding love and more about winning money. Case in point: Two of the couples left on the beach (Jonathon Johnson and Lea Cayanan, as well as Kathy Swarts and Keith Gordon) aren’t even romantically involved, but are still on the show as they compete for the cash prize.
In addition to Jonathan, Lea, Kathy, and Keith, the other remaining couples are Kat Izzo and Dale Moss, Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards, Alexe Gordon and Andrew Spencer, and Bailey Brown and Jeremy Simon. They are all in romantic relationships at this point.
While many agree that Bachelor in Paradise needed a revamp, there seem to be mixed reviews about whether or not this was the right direction to go in. How do you feel about the new twist? Vote in our poll below, and let us know all of your feelings in the comments section, as well!
