Hallmark’s Taylor Cole Reveals Surprising Connection to ‘Double Scoop’ Costar Ryan McPartlin
Hallmark Channel continues to embrace the summer vibes with Double Scoop, an adorable small-town romance starring Taylor Cole and Ryan McPartlin. When Nora (Cole) discovers the best ice cream, she sets her sights on the dairy farm as a client. However, she has some competition from her former colleague, James (McPartlin).
While this is Cole and McPartlin’s first Hallmark movie together, it is technically not their first time working together. The Hallmark actress spoke with Swooon about her past connection to McPartlin and her summer flick.
“I had known him in Hollywood forever, and every time I see him, I just say ‘hi,’ but I couldn’t quite place where I had worked with him before,” Cole recalled about McPartlin. “I was like, ‘OK, did we work together, or do we just know each other from the social scene in Los Angeles. How do we know each other?’ And we both looked it up on IMDb, and we’re like, ‘We were in CSI: Miami together.’ There’s footage of me breaking a beer bottle over his head in our movie.”

Talk about a full circle moment! The costars’ roles in Double Scoop are a far cry from CSI: Miami. However, their characters do have a past connection of their own.
Nora and James start out “butting heads,” but the more they get to know each other, the more “they come around to see each other’s sides of the story.” According to Cole, Nora and James soon “let their guard down and sort of hear each other out and work together, essentially.”
Cole, who has starred in countless Hallmark movies, loved how Nora was in a “whole whirlwind of change” throughout Double Scoop. “That was fun to watch her struggle and find herself and recreate herself.”
