Reba McEntire Has Sweet Date Night With Rex Linn After Stepson Brandon Blackstock’s Death

Reba McEntire has been grieving her former stepson Brandon Blackstock since his death on August 7, and she’s had the support of boyfriend Rex Linn during this difficult time.
Linn was by McEntire’s side for a night out when they attended the Kenny Chesney concert at The Sphere in Las Vegas this week. McEntire posted a rare photo of the couple hanging out with Chesney backstage at the venue.
“Never thought I’d go to the beach inside a sphere in Las Vegas but thanks to my friend @kennychesney I sure did 🏝️,” she captioned the post.

McEntire has been keeping a low-profile since Blackstock’s death. Although she divorced the talent manager’s father, Narvel Blackstock, in 2015, she maintained a close relationship with him and his siblings.
“Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God,” the country singer wrote on Instagram earlier this month. “His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence. There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”
Blackstock had been privately battling melanoma, a form of skin cancer, for three years before he died on August 7 at the age of 48. He is survived by four children, including the two young kids he shared with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson, who canceled several dates of her Las Vegas residency to be there for her children.
Blackstock’s family confirmed his death in a statement. “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” they shared. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
