Did Connor Franta Confirm Troye Sivan Relationship? Breaking Down His ‘For Him’ Video

Looks like Connor Franta is finally ready to step back into the Blue Neighbourhood

On August 24, 33-year-old OG YouTube star Connor Franta took to his platform to address the resurfaced rumor that he dated “One of Your Girls” singer Troye Sivan from 2014 to 2016. You might be asking, “What in the 2014 is going on?” If you are, you’re not alone! Franta began his video, titled “my good side” by asking that very question.

Franta and Sivan’s rumored romance reentered the news on August 14 when Sivan posted an image of himself and pre-“Pink Pony Club” artist Chappell Roan, with the caption, “A series of images.” As the internet’s memory is infinite, fans quickly recalled that the original image of Sivan and Roan also included Franta. As fans took to Sivan’s comments to call out the cropped image, Sivan commented, “FYI I found that pic online doing my weekly google of ‘troye sivan and chappell roan’, not my crop!!!!!”

As one fan commented, “Not my two favorite twinks having beef? 😭” Franta and Sivan’s 2010s followers began to suspect that the alleged exes were reliving their breakup nearly 10 years later. The next day, Franta broke his silence and posted the other half of the image (a la The Parent Trap), featuring only Roan and himself, like the August 24 video, Franta captioned the image, “My good side.”

While Franta has never confirmed his romantic connection with Sivan, the YouTube star mentioned on a podcast that he was an original fan of Roan, adding that he watched the singer’s YouTube videos back in 2014 with his “boyfriend at the time.”

In his new video, Franta never explicitly confirmed that Sivan was his ex-boyfriend by name, but he certainly confirmed their connection in everything but words. He stated, “There is no drama, there is no tea… There is no bad blood between my former boyfriend and myself.” He even went as far as to say that today they are “just two guys living completely separate lives.”

The real confirmation of #Tronnor (the couple’s infamous YouTube ship name) came as Franta shared images of singers that he met before they were famous, the last one being his half of the Chappell Roan photo, which quickly fades into the full image (including Sivan). Looking at the photo, Franta added, “Obsessed with the fact that Chappell Roan was dragged into this twink issue.”

In the final moments of the video, Franta states that he wants to share something that is specifically “for him,” giving a nod to the title of one of the numerous Troye Sivan songs that are allegedly about their relationship, especially since Sivan told listeners that he almost didn’t put “for him” on Blue Neighbourhood because it was “a gift” for someone specific at the time.

To Sivan, or at least that’s what viewers were left to assume, Franta admitted, “If you’re watching this, I’m proud of you too for every single thing that you have done.”
