What Happened to ‘Catching Kelce’ Winner Maya Benberry? Her Life After Travis Kelce Split
Nearly 10 years before Travis Kelce got engaged to Taylor Swift, he had his own dating show on E! Catching Kelce aired in 2016 and featured the football star looking for love in front of the world.
He ended up with Maya Benberry at the end of the show, and they dated for several months before splitting in early 2017. But while Kelce’s life is still very much in the spotlight, Benberry is not as high-profile. How long did Travis Kelce and Maya Benberry date?
The couple dated for about nine months before their January 2017 split. The finale of Catching Kelce was filmed in April 2016, but the pair could not go public with their relationship until it aired that October.
While promoting the season, Kelce confirmed to E! that he met someone on the show and, without naming Benberry at the time, called her an “absolutely wonderful” person. “Right now, we’re in a tough part just because we can’t really just get up and go,” he admitted. “We have to be mindful of where we go, who we’re going to be seen in front of with. It’s a little difficult right now, but I think once the show is over with we can definitely have some fun.”
He also noted that there was no rush for an engagement or marriage at the time. “I have always been the ‘just let it roll’ [kind of guy] and take advantage of the opportunities when they come about. I’ve always been a very success-driven person, too, so I’m very focused on trying to get my career somewhere. That and I’m still getting to know her. And, to be honest, marriage is a huge step, that it takes a while to get to know you’re ready for.”
What happened between Travis Kelce and Maya Benberry?
While Kelce has not publicly spoken about what went down in his relationship with Benberry, she came forward with shocking accusations about him after he and Kayla Nicole went public with their relationship in May 2017. She accused the Kansas City Chiefs tight end of cheating on her.
In social media posts captured by The Shade Room, Benberry wrote, “When you and your ex broke up 5 months ago but you find out via social media that he has supposedly been in another relationship for 6…”
Benberry continued, “A lot of overlapping her. Especially when I have texts from him in February claiming he was ingle. The truth is the truth. No bitterness at all when I’m being falsely quoted in the media. Just clearing my name and stating facts.”
Kelce dated Nicole on-and-off for five years before their May 2022 split. He started dating Swift in the summer of 2023.
In 2016, Benberry hosted a now-deleted Q&A on her YouTube channel and admitted that being in an interracial relationship for the first time also took a toll on her relationship with Kelce. “It definitely was difficult,” she said, per People. “Just because I wanted to enjoy my relationship and a lot of people saw color. I would think that people would respect me and all my flaws but instead, I got picked on by it. So of anything, that was the most difficult thing.”
What is Maya Benberry doing now?
Per her Instagram bio, Maya who is from Kentucky, now lives in Miami and works as a life coach. She is the founder and CEO of RBRND The Agency, which is “coming soon,” according to its website. In the company’s Instagram bio, Benberry is referred to as the “#1 women’s identity shifting coach.”

On her personal Instagram page, Benberry is not very active and has not posted since July 2023.
Following her time on Catching Kelce, Benberry appeared on Season 2 of Ex on the Beach in 2018. She also used to offer tips and tricks on a beauty Instagram, which she has since deleted.
