‘General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Gets Scoop on His Former Costars’ Love Lives
Maurice Benard stays in close touch with members of the General Hospital family. Even when some costars are no longer on the show, Benard loves to catch up with his GH pals to get an update on what’s going on in their lives.
During an exciting Instagram Live on August 30 with Kin Shriner, aka Scotty Baldwin, and Marcus Coloma, aka Nikolas Cassadine, Benard took some time to ask Shriner and Coloma some fan questions. The actor had time for three questions. First up, “Is Kin single? Is Marcus single?” Benard asked his former costars, who were broadcasting from the same place.
“We operate like single guys. That’s the way we operate,” Shriner quipped. Coloma chimed in, “I’m single. Kin is…”
The Port Charles alum continued to be a little sarcastic with his response. “We’re all single, all the time,” he continued. “We gotta put on a persona in Hollywood. You gotta have game. You gotta be mysterious. You don’t give anything away.” Coloma added, “Nothing.” Shriner and Coloma ran with the whole “mysterious” bit for a while. Fans loved the interaction between the three GH stars. “Start working on that Netflix show with all 3 of you please! It will be EPIC!” one fan commented on the video.

Despite no longer being on General Hospital, Shriner and Coloma have continued to work together. They created The Two D’s, an Instagram series that follows the comedic adventures of two incompetent detectives. (Netflix, you’re missing out!)
Shriner has played Scotty Baldwin on and off for over 40 years. His last appearance on GH was in 2024. Coloma played Nikolas on the soap from 2019 to 2023.
Benard is one of GH’s mainstays, having played Sonny Corinthos for over three decades. He recently reunited with his former costar Vanessa Marcil, who visited Benard’s ranch with her her fiancé, MC Martin. Marcil is best known for playing Brenda Barrett, one of Sonny’s greatest loves.
