Are Rachael Ray & Husband John Cusimano Still Together? The Latest on Their Relationship
Rachael Ray began her career as a TV chef in 2001 when she began hosting 30 Minute Meals on Food Network. The show ran for 11 seasons before wrapping in 2012.
During that time, Ray also met and fell in love with John M. Cusimano, whom she married in 2005. Are Rachael Ray and John Cusimano still together?
Yes, Ray and her husband are still together. In August, the celebrity chef celebrated her husband’s birthday with a tribute on Instagram, writing, “When you know, you know. 💞 Happy Birthday to John Cusimano. Love of my life and the most Wonderful daddy of Bella. We love you!”
Just a few weeks later, Cusimano returned the favor with his own tribute for his wife’s special day. “Happy birthday to @rachaelray,” he gushed, along with a throwback photo of Ray. “My forever love and forever home, wherever we may be.”
Cusimano, who previously worked as an entertainment lawyer and is a member of the band The Cringe, met Ray at a mutual friend’s party in 2001. The friend had been trying to set them up for about a year before they actually crossed paths in person.
“We crossed a crowded room and started talking and we have talked every day since the night we met,” Ray once shared. The couple renewed their wedding vows in 2015.
Do Rachael Ray and John Cusimano have kids?
No, Ray and Cusimano do not have children, but they are proud dog parents to their pooch, Bella. Their previous dog, Isaboo, died in 2020.

While interviewing Bob Harper on her podcast in 2024, Ray admitted she got “bashed” for “decades” because she didn’t have kids. “For me, if I have the absolute worst day, or I’m sick as a dog — as the expression goes — the thing that makes me feel best is to go home and literally climb into bed under a blanket with my dog,” she added.
She also previously told People, “I work too much to be an appropriate parent. I feel like a bad mom to my dog [Isaboo] some days because I’m just not here enough. I just feel like I would do a bad job if I took the time to literally give birth to a kid right now and try and juggle everything I’m doing.”
Where do Rachael Ray and John Cusimano live?
Ray and Cusimano have homes in New York and Italy. Their primary residence is in upstate New York, although their home there burned down in 2020.
“Fifteen years of memories; 40 years of notebooks, drawings, thoughts, my life’s work. In the years that I lived here, I learned an awful lot. In the few weeks since it burned, I think I’ve learned even more,” she shared on her talk show later that year.
The fire began when an ember from the chimney landed on the roof. Luckily, nobody was harmed. A year after the fire, the home was reconstructed and ready to live in.
The couple bought a property in Tuscany in 2018 but were unable to return there until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when they began renovations on the home. “I love it there and have missed it,” she shared in an issue of her Rachael Ray in Season magazine. “My mother’s family and both of John’s parents’ families hail from there. My husband and I got married there.”
