Is ‘The Bachelorette’ Returning? Why Fans Are Convinced A New Season Is Coming
ABC has not yet confirmed that The Bachelorette has been renewed for Season 22, but a cryptic post on Instagram has fans thinking that an announcement is coming.
Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, shared a video on her podcast’s Instagram page on Monday, September 8, of a cake that said “Season 30” on it in icing. But it was what happened next that sparked fan theories.
Cooper cut into the cake with a knife and pulled out the slice, which had pink frosting inside. “Wait, why is it pink?” she asked. The post was captioned, “Change of plans 🌹.”
Because of the rose emoji and the fact that The Bachelor has already been renewed for Season 30, fans have speculated that the video is referencing a Bachelor Nation-related announcement. The pink icing and “change of plans” caption sparked the theory that The Bachelorette could be coming before Season 30 of The Bachelor.

After all, no new season of The Bachelorette aired in 2025. Jenn Tran‘s season concluded in September 2024, which was followed by The Golden Bachelorette that fall, then Season 29 of The Bachelor with Grant Ellis from January to March. The Bachelorette generally airs a new season over the summer, but Bachelor in Paradise was Bachelor Nation’s only program to air in summer 2025, so we’re certainly overdue!
Maria Georgas, who has been a favorite to star on The Bachelorette since her elimination from Joey Graziadei‘s season of The Bachelor in 2024, was previously a guest on Cooper’s podcast, which has led fans to wonder if she finally agreed to be the lead. Although Georgas was adamant in the past that she didn’t want the position, it’s possible she changed her mind!
Plus, this season of Bachelor in Paradise put several women in the spotlight who didn’t leave the show in a relationship, so there’s a selection of leading ladies to choose from there as well. It’s also possible that the franchise dips outside of its past seasons to find a new lead for both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette when they return.
Another theory that’s popular in the comments section is that Cooper may be the host of the next season of The Bachelorette. Jesse Palmer has been hosting all shows in the franchise since 2022.
Cooper did not respond to any of the speculation in the comments section of her post, although she did confirm that the video is NOT a pregnancy announcement.
