When is Cheap AF coming out?
There’s no release date yet, but Deadline’s casting announcement mentioned that filming is underway in Seattle, Washington.
Who is in the Cheap AF cast?
Comedian Margaret Cho known for Hulu’s Fire Island and Dying for Sex, will lead the film alongside Arden. At the same time McNamara and Rosende joined the cast, Josh Plasse and Toan Le did, too. Only Arden’s character has been revealed, which you can read about below.
What is Cheap AF about?
It follows frugal influencer Carol (Cho), who’s determined to win Wedding Magazine’s “Best Wedding on a Budget” social media competition. In the process of going all out, she risks ruining her wedding and relationships.
“Cheap AF is more than just an AAPI story,” director Roy Hsu said. “It’s a story that showcases the American ‘melting pot,’ and each of these actors bring such unique strengths and experiences to their roles to help us make our story even more universal.”
“It deals with the theme of feeling like you don’t belong,” the director added. “While the story is autobiographical and sometimes hits on themes that are hard even for me, by wrapping the story in romance and comedy, we’re creating something in which everyone can see a part of their own reflection.”
Who is making Cheap AF?
Cheap AF is the debut directorial feature of Hsu, who also penned the script. He’s also executive-producing alongside Byron Beane, who doubles as the casting director.
Corey Moosa, Michael K. Dwyer, and David Hopwood from A Group of Ferrets is producing, as is Grayson Hay.
Is there a Cheap AF trailer?
