Irwin is supposedly single at the moment, making him one of Dancing With the Stars Season 34’s most eligible bachelors. Even though he’s just 21, he’s ready to find that special someone. In an interview with People, Irwin revealed that he wants a relationship like his parents had. “That’s who I want to be. That’s a perfect relationship,” he said.
In April 2025, he confirmed that he wasn’t dating anyone. “It’s funny, I’m at this point in my life where I’m like, I’m so open to that, but I’m just waiting for the stars to align,” he explained to People.
Irwin added that his parents and his sister, Bindi Irwin, who won DWTS Season 21, found love close to home. “Everyone met here at our wildlife sanctuary,” he said, referring to the Australia Zoo in Queensland, Australia.
“In both instances, there were American tourists that were coming over and visiting the zoo. So I’m waiting. I’m waiting for that American tourist to come into the zoo and for it all to happen!” he said. DWTS does shoot in Los Angeles, so if it’s an American he’s after, maybe Irwin will find someone over the next couple of months.
Explaining what he’s looking for in a relationship, Irwin continued, “I look at when my brother-in-law Chandler and my sister Bindi met, it was just meant to be. And when my mom and dad met, it was this crazy serendipitous, amazing moment that just was a fluke.”
In a November interview with The New York Times, the zookeeper vaguely alluded to his struggles with fame and his dating life, though he maintained a cheerful tone. “Holy moly, that’s so challenging to navigate,” he said of dating in an era where “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.”

Judge Derek Hough echoed fans when he pointed out that Gomez and Irwin had “chemistry.” Irwin and Gomez have yet to confirm or deny if they’re seeing each other. A couple of days after their winning dance, Irwin didn’t answer the question of whether or not he and Gomez were dating. “We had the best time,” he told TMZ. “That dance was so much fun. It was so cool to do two such distinct dances, one that was really slow and heartfelt, and then the dance with Xochitl, which was energy and fun. She’s the best. It’s been really great.”
It’s not the first time Irwin has faced romance speculation this season. In October, he was linked to Hailey Bills, a member of the show’s dance troupe. He also hasn’t spoken out about their alleged connection.

Irwin does have a history of romance in the workplace. He dated Rorie Buckey, the niece of the late Heath Ledger, from 2022 to 2024.
