Lauren Jauregui will be hitting the ballroom for Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, which will put her back in the spotlight in a big way. Since her girl group, Fifth Harmony, went on hiatus in 2018, Jauregui has been working on her solo music career, but the dance competition will put her in front of a whole new audience.

During her career as a musician, Jauregui has been in a few publicized relationships and has also been open about her bisexuality. Scroll down for everything we know about her love life and more.

Who is Lauren Jauregui dating?

Jauregui is not currently known to be in a relationship. In April 2024, she appeared on the 2 Dykes and a Mic podcast and said she was ready to explore polyamory.

“I don’t really know what it’s gonna end up shaping up to look like,” she admitted. “I just know that I’m in a space right now at this point in my life where I’m like, I want to belong to myself primarily, and then I want to leave space for whoever I meet and me to create boundaries between us, whether it’s like, ‘Oh no, we’re just platonic,’ or ‘There’s kind of a little vibe here.'”

She explained that she wants to be able to “explore” certain relationships, but doesn’t want them to affect whether she’s “exploring something with someone else,” adding, “Obviously, I’m super communicative, so I would never put someone in that scenario that doesn’t want to be in that scenario. But I just feel very free right now, and I don’t feel like this monogamous, held-down energy is really for me.”

When did Lauren Jauregui come out?

Jauregui came out as bisexual in November 2016 after Donald Trump was elected as president for the first time. She wrote an open letter for Billboard, which was directed toward those who voted for Trump.

In the post, she said, “I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it.”

On the 2 Dykes and a Mic podcast, she clarified that she “might be demisexual,” which means she only feels sexually attracted to someone when there’s an intense emotional bond. “I went through the phase of trying to just sleep with people, and I hated it,” she explained. “I hated it. In order for me to be really turned on and enjoy sex, I need to know that you care about me as a human being. I can’t be transactional for you.”

Shortly before Jauregui officially came out as bisexual, photos leaked of her kissing her then-girlfriend at a family wedding in New Orleans. Fans found the photos on Jauregui’s relative’s Facebook page, but they went even more viral when blogger Perez Hilton posted about them on social media.

During an appearance on Red Table Talk in 2021, Jauregui called out Hilton for “outing” her, which he denied. “It was her fans that caused this photo to go viral,” he told People. “By the time I commented on it, it had already gone viral. It wasn’t like I was given this piece of information or a photo, and I was the first person to share it with the world; it was already trending by the time I chimed in.”

He also expanded on social media, writing, “All I did was send out a tweet talking about the leaked photo and I said “Why are #FifthHarmony fans being so extra over this photo of @LaurenJauregui (in the red) kissing another girl? NBD!” I don’t regret that. I never claimed or presumed anything about her sexuality.”

Who has Lauren Jauregui dated?

From approximately 2015 to 2017, Jauregui dated Lucy Vives (the woman in the leaked kissing photos from her uncle’s wedding). “I’d been dating the girlfriend that I’ve had at the time for probably a year at that point, but we had fallen in love when I was 15,” Jauregui said on an episode of Red Table Talk. Jauregui and Vives were school friends, but it’s unclear where they stand today after their split.

Following the breakup, Jauregui entered a relationship with rapper Ty Dolla $ign. They were together from 2017 to 2019, but remained amicable after the breakup. In fact, he was featured on her song “Wolves” in 2023 (the track was created prior to the breakup, but they finished it years post-split).

In February 2023, Jauregui went Instagram official with So You Think You Can Dance alum Sasha Mallory, who was previously one of her dancers on tour. At that point, they’d already been together for a year, she told People. Of the decision to go public, she explained, “I just want to be able to love them out loud and be able to share that with people. On Valentine’s Day, I did it very impulsively. I didn’t even talk with them about it first.”

Although they had split before her 2024 2 Dykes and a Mic interview, Jauregui said she and Mallory remained “besties,” adding, “We’re really close, actually. She’s one of my best friends.”

Did Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello date?

For years, Fifth Harmony fans speculated that something was going on between the band’s members, Jauregui and Camila Cabello. Jauregui shut these rumors down for good during a 2020 interview on Becky G‘s En La Sala podcast.

“People thought Camila and I were into each other,” she explained. “And that made me so uncomfortable, like disgustingly uncomfortable, because I was queer but she was not.” The singer added, “It made me feel like a predator because of the type of clips people would put together and the type of stories people would write. I was always the aggressor, and I was always the one turning her. … I also did not have that connection with her.”

Jauregui confirmed that she and her bandmate were “just very good friends,” adding, “I was very affectionate with all of my friends. We would tell each other s**t that, yeah, maybe you would think we were gay if you were listening over, but we weren’t. That wasn’t the interaction, so that actually made me so uncomfortable.”
