Shane (Joe Jonas) and Mitchie (Demi Lovato) sang that they “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” but 15 years after we last saw the characters onscreen together, where do they stand?

On September 17, Disney+ delighted Disney Channel fans by announcing that Camp Rock 3 has been greenlit for both properties. According to the announcement, Connect 3 (played by Joe and his brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas) will return to Camp Rock. But will Shane and Mitchie still be together in the film?

Scroll to find out everything we know about Camp Rock 3, including where Mitchie and Shane’s relationship stands during the long-awaited third DCOM film.

Are Shane and Mitchie still together in Camp Rock 3?

While we don’t know the fate of Shane and Mitchie’s relationship yet, there are some signs that point to them no longer being together. Joe and his brothers are returning for the movie, but Lovato is not listed as a cast member.

Based on the movie’s short synopsis from Disney (more on that below), we hate to say, it’s not looking good for Shane and Mitchie still being an item. Seeing as Mitchie isn’t set to be in the third movie at all, keeping the duo together would only complicate the plot. Plus, if Connect 3 was returning to Camp Rock and Mitchie was still in the picture, any DCOM fan knows that Mitchie would be right there with them.

Of course, it’s possible that she just stayed at home for the brothers’ quick trip back to camp!

Who is in the Camp Rock 3 cast?

Per Disney’s announcement, Joe will reprise his role as Shane Gray in Camp Rock 3. While Nick and Kevin will return as Nate and Jason Gray, Lovato will not return to the cast as Mitchie Torres.

The three Jo Bros are credited as guest stars in the film. Maria Canals-Barrera (Wizards of Waverly Place), who played Mitchie’s mom and camp caterer, Connie, is set to return. Sherry Cola (Joyride) will also join the franchise as Lark.

While Lovato will not return to the franchise as a cast member, she is involved in the film as an executive producer alongside all three Jonas Brothers. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, teased, “Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick, and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”

The third Camp Rock movie will also feature a new generation of campers, including Liamani Segura (Descendants: Wicked Wonderland) as Sage, Malachi Barton (ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires) as Fletch, Lumi Pollack (Electric Bloom) as Rosie, newcomer Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter (The Thundermans) as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.

What is Camp Rock 3 about?

According to Disney, Camp Rock 3 picks up in the present day, when Shane Gray’s band Connect 3 loses the opening act for their major reunion tour. Instead of calling up Sabrina Carpenter or someone like that, it appears that the band decides to return to their beloved Camp Rock to “discover the next big thing” from the sea of new campers.

Disney teases the new campers, stating, “Camp Rock’s all-new campers include bold and determined Sage (Segura) and her easygoing brother Desi (Stone), cello prodigy Rosie (Pollack), drummer with his own beat Cliff (Trotter), choreo queen Callie (Pitts), intimidating influencer Madison (Jean) and camp bad boy Fletch (Barton). ”
