LeBron James Makes Surprising Confession About Marriage to Wife Savannah

LeBron James and wife Savannah James just celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on September 14, but they’ve been together for more than two decades. But while the couple seems solid, the NBA star just made a shocking confession about the real state of their marriage.
The Jameses are high school sweethearts. They started dating in 2002 and, although they’ve been victims of online speculation about their relationship, they’ve been together ever since. Still, LeBron admitted that it hasn’t always been easy.
“I’m gonna be honest, a relationship is never picture perfect,” he said on the 360 With Speedy podcast. “But if you’re OK with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it, man. We’ve been together since high school, so s**t ain’t always going to be a bed of roses, man — in any relationship, let alone someone you’ve been living with for 20 years.”
LeBron revealed his and his wife’s secret to making their marriage work, noting that “communication” is the number one factor, with “being honest” number two. “Number three is just, like, you have to be OK in being uncomfortable in relationships sometimes,” he said. “You can’t always have it your way. You can’t always think, ‘My way or the highway.’ It’s never going to work that way.”
The longtime couple welcomed their first child, son Bronny, in 2004, followed by son Bryce in 2007. Their daughter, Zhuri, was born in October 2014, just over a year after they tied the knot.
LeBron recently paid tribute to his wife for their wedding anniversary, writing on his Instagram Story, “Happy anniversary my beautiful. I love you mama.” He also included emojis of a crown, butterfly, and infinity symbol. Prior to the milestone, they got matching tattoos with their sons, although they have not revealed the final product of the new ink just yet.
