Brooklyn Benson and Layne Gwartney were one of the couples to leave Are You My First? united in a relationship. The first season of the Hulu series chronicled single virgins who wanted to find love. It’s been over a month since Season 1 dropped, and viewers have been wondering if Brooklyn and Layne are still together today.

Are Brooklyn and Layne still together?
No, Brooklyn and Layne are no longer together. On September 19, Brooklyn posted a TikTok video where she went into detail in her “breakup storytime.”
She revealed that Layne broke up with her “the first time he saw me in real life.” Brooklyn said it was a “quick two-minute breakup,” and she was “completely shocked” by the sudden turn of events.

“All I could do was just cry because on the show it seemed like he completely wanted to be with me,” Brooklyn admitted. “He gave me a literal promise ring. To be honest, I was really distraught for a while about this. I was finally healing, and then obviously, watching the show come back out, it was a really emotional time for me again.”
Why did Layne break up with Brooklyn?
According to Brooklyn, Layne told her that he was “trying to see if he ever felt a spark” for her. His reasoning left her confused and frustrated.
“We have not spoken since that happened. I’m finally feeling a little better, but it was just a really sad thing,” Brooklyn admitted. Layne has not addressed the breakup.
What happened to Brooklyn and Layne on Are You My First?
Brooklyn and Layne both entered the show as bombshells, and many of the other guys were hoping to form a connection with Brooklyn. The dance instructor and commercial pilot developed feelings for each other, and he got down on one knee to ask her to be his girlfriend in the finale. He gave her a promise ring as well, and they planned on becoming intimate down the line.
“To me, that was very real,” Brooklyn said in her TikTok. “I thought everything was real. Obviously, I had no reason to not believe it. I was just so happy about the way it turned out because that’s exactly what I wanted.”
