Will ‘Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Have a TV Wedding? Her New Update

It’s been more than a year since Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple got engaged on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette, and while they’re still not rushing to walk down the aisle, they do have a new update on whether or not they plan to televise their nuptials.
The Golden Bachelor couple, Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist (who split in April 2024), got married on TV, but will Chapple and Vassos do the same?
So far, there are no plans to do so. “It hasn’t been offered to us,” Vassos admitted on The Tangle podcast. Still, she assured listeners that she and her husband-to-be will share plenty from their wedding day once it happens.
“I’m perfectly happy doing our own thing with our family and friends,” she said. “But I would never not, like, put some pictures up and let you know it’s happening.”
She continued, “I’m so grateful that people watched the show. The people that watched, I feel really kind of responsible to. They are watching what we are doing, and I would never leave them at the door. They deserve to see how this progresses and if it does well, celebrate with us. For them to find out that we got married and not know that [before], I don’t think it’s fair. I feel like they have invested in us.”
After The Golden Bachelorette finale aired in November 2024, the couple told Swooon that they were open to the idea of a TV wedding. “Now I see the joy of maybe it being a little bit bigger and inviting Bachelor Nation in a little more than I thought,” she said at the time.
The mom of four reiterated that there are no new updates to share about the wedding at this time. She and Chapple are still living in Maryland and Kansas, respectively, but they previously told Swooon that they’ll eventually move in together. However, it’s been “logistically” a bit harder than they expected since Chapple still has his business in Kansas and Vassos still has her kids and mother on the East Coast.
“Chock has a business in Wichita, and he’s still working on getting that to a place where he can leave it and feel comfortable,” Vassos told us. “So we’re a little further away from [moving] than maybe we expected or planned for. But I feel like we’re still both kind of young and in our working years still, so it’s a little hard.”
