Are ‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond & Husband Ladd Still Together?
Over the years, fans have gotten to know Ree Drummond and her family through her blog, social media, and Food Network show Pioneer Woman. Of course, that includes her husband, Ladd Drummond, whom she married in 1996.
However, the couple made headlines when they spent their 29th wedding anniversary on September 21 apart. Ree and Ladd were actually in completely different states for the occasion. Scroll down for all the latest on their relationship.
Are Ree and Ladd Drummond still together?
Yes, Ree and Ladd are still together. She took to Instagram to explain the reason they spent their anniversary separately, and it all had to do with a work opportunity that came up.
Ree had to travel to QVC headquarters on Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21 (the day of the anniversary). She was featured on the network to talk about her Ree by the Pioneer Woman clothing line, an “easy, elevated clothing collection that perfectly reflects [her] casual life.”
Meanwhile, Ladd was back on the family ranch in Oklahoma, where he works. In her anniversary tribute to Ladd, Ree noted, “It’s just our 29th, so we aren’t too worked up that we’re in separate states today.” However, she also made a promise that she and her husband would be heading “somewhere in Europe” for their 30th anniversary next year.
“We had to shake on it recently, because we know our homebody selves too well and something always comes up,” she added.
How did Ree and Ladd Drummond meet?
Ree and Ladd met at a bar in the mid 1990s. She recalled the encounter in a 2021 post on her blog, revealing that the encounter happened while she was “making a pit stop” in her Oklahoma hometown after moving back from Los Angeles. “Desperate for a fun time with old friends, Ree agreed to meet her childhood buddies at a local dive (and didn’t even bother to put on eyeliner before rushing out the door!). The only thing on her mind was a much-needed glass of chardonnay,” she recalled. “Then, she saw him.”
After a great conversation, Ree gave Ladd her phone number, but he never called. However, right as Ree was about to move to Chicago, she heard from Ladd, and they went on their first date. Although their lives were headed in different directions, he said “I love you” just two weeks later.” The rest is history.
How many kids do Ree and Ladd Drummond have?
Ree and Ladd have five children. Their four biological children are daughters Alex (1997) and Paige (1999), and sons Bryce (2002) and Todd (2004). In 2018, they fostered a son named Jamar, and he has been part of their family ever since.

“Fostering a kid was never something Ladd and I pursued or felt called to do, but Jamar’s circumstances presented themselves to us in a way we couldn’t ignore,” Ree explained. “So, long story short, all six foot five inches of him showed up at our house one afternoon, bag in hand, ready to move in.”
All five children are now legal adults. In December 2024, Ree and Ladd became grandparents when Alex gave birth to a baby girl, Sofia.
