Ana Huang Shares New ‘Twisted Love’ Show Update & Talks 5th Anniversary Plans

BookTok sensation Ana Huang did not hold back, teasing what Anaverse fans can expect for the five-year celebration of her most beloved series, Twisted, as well as the upcoming book-to-screen adaptation that is set to come with it.
On April 21, 2021, Ana Huang published Twisted Love, the first of four interconnected standalone love stories, featuring brooding billionaires, reluctant royalty, and endlessly spicy relationships. After rapidly going viral on TikTok, Huang’s Twisted Love series was picked up by Netflix, promising readers: “A steamy new adult series that follows the lives of four best friends and their brooding love interests, riddled with dark secrets from their pasts, as they overcome the obstacles keeping them apart to fall in love.”
With two major milestones on the horizon for the Twisted series, Ana Huang sat down with Swooon to chat all things Twisted Love, including “a full year” of anniversary plans and exciting TV series news.
Speaking of exciting upcoming plans for the Twisted TV series, we couldn’t help but ask Huang if she could give us any updates on the upcoming Netflix adaptation. “We’re working on the script right now, and that’s about as much as I’m allowed to say,” she said. While there are “no updates beyond that” right now, Huang was confident to share, “Hopefully there’ll be more soon.”
Having already begun her book series’ fifth anniversary celebration with a collection of stunning anniversary editions, Huang told Swooon, “I do have a lot of plans for next year’s celebration. I have this sort of whole calendar of just fun things to celebrate with readers.” Based on our conversation, it’s clear that fans of the series can expect to reenter the world of Alex Volkov, Rhys Larsen, and more with “new little snippets, little bits of art, and some fun experiences” to celebrate the anniversary.
Huang declared that she “couldn’t let the anniversary go by” without doing something for the fans. She told Swooon, “I can’t share any of that yet because we are still in the planning stages. So I don’t want to lock myself in in case anything changes. I do have a full year of exciting things planned for next year.”
Outside of the Twisted series, Huang is set to publish her fifteenth novel(!), The Defender on October 28, the Gods of the Game sequel to The Striker. While we can’t tease too much about this thrilling new novel, we are proud to share that Vincent and Brooklyn’s story was definitely worth the wait!
