‘Sister Wives’: A Complete Guide to Kody Brown’s 18 Kids With Meri, Janelle, Christine & Robyn

Sister Wives returns for a brand-new season on September 28, but there’s technically only one sister wife left in the TLC series. In the years since Kody Brown debuted his polygamist lifestyle to the world, three of Kody’s four wives (Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown) have left him.
Over the course of two decades, Kody has welcomed 18 children with his sister wives. Despite growing up around plural marriage, Kody doesn’t think any of his kids will pursue that in the future. “I could possibly see it if one of my daughters wanted to marry a married man. I don’t think the experience they’ve had with our family would make them want to do that,” he said in the trailer for the new season of Sister Wives.
Swooon has assembled a complete guide to all the Sister Wives kids. We’ve explained the family tree through Kody’s relationships with Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn.
Meri and Kody Brown
Meri was Kody’s first legal wife. They met in 1989 at church and married in 1990, six months after they met. Committed to polygamy, they soon added Janelle and Christine as sister wives, though they were only “spiritually married” to Kody. Meri and Kody legally divorced in 2014 so he could marry Robyn and adopt her kids from a previous relationship. Meri remained a part of Kody’s plural marriage lifestyle until January 2023, when they separated after 32 years. Meri has since ended their marriage through their church and started dating again.

When Maddie was pregnant, Evangalynn was diagnosed with oligodactyly, a congenital anomaly that means the absence of fewer than five fingers on a hand. After she was born, Evangalynn was also diagnosed with fibular aplasia, tibial campomelia and oligosyndactyly (FATCO) syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects bone formation in the uterus.
Maddie and Caleb welcomed their third child, daughter Josephine, in February 2023, followed by their fourth child, daughter Emilia, in March 2025. In a May 2025 episode of Sister Wives, Janelle opened up about her son’s tragic death and acknowledged he had a drinking problem. “I don’t know what happened that night he did that because he’s had other nights like this where he would drink and then pass out, and he would go kind of radio silent, but he’d be back in the morning,” she said. “I don’t know. I don’t know what happened this time.”
On the one-year anniversary of her son’s death, Janelle wrote on Instagram, “I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts. It’s been a year baby. Ysabel is now 22 years old and has spent the last couple of years traveling. In 2020, she underwent surgery to correct her scoliosis. Kody did not join Christine and Ysabel for the operation, which caused further problems for Christine and Kody’s marriage.
“I think his priorities are a little screwed up,” Ysabel said in an episode of Sister Wives. “And l don’t want to disrespect him because he is my dad and I understand, I do. I do understand why he’s doing it, it’s just really frustrating and really, really hard.”
Truely Brown (born on April 13, 2010)
Kody and Christine’s youngest is now 15 years old. When she was three, Truely was hospitalized after suffering acute kidney failure and dehydration. Following Kody and Christine’s split, they engaged in a custody battle over their youngest child. Truely now lives primarily with Christine and her stepfather, David, in Utah.
Robyn and Kody Brown
Robyn was the fourth sister wife to join the family, and she’s currently Kody’s only wife. Robyn and Kody were “spiritually married” at first, but then they legally married in 2014 so Kody could adopt Robyn’s three kids from her previous marriage to David Jessop.
Robyn has openly struggled with the demise of Kody’s other marriages. “I had a different plan for my life,” she admitted in a Sister Wives Tell All. “I was going to live a plural marriage. I was going to be a part of a big picture, a big family. That’s been taken away from me.”
Dayton Brown (born on January 16, 2000)
Dayton is Robyn’s first child with her ex-husband. In a blog post, Robyn revealed that she was told that Dayton had Asperger’s Syndrome in second grade. Dayton went off to college in 2018.

Robyn and her ex-husband welcomed their second child in 2002. Like her older brother, Aurora lives a fairly private life out of public eye. Breanna Brown (born on July 10, 2005)
Breanna, Robyn’s third and last child with her ex-husband, celebrated her 20th birthday in July 2025. In the same December 2024 episode as her older sister, Breanna admitted that she wasn’t too keen on the idea of plural marriage at the moment. “I have conflicting thoughts,” she said. “But right now I’m just, I don’t think so. I’m not sure if I want to live that.”
Solomon Brown (born on October 26, 2011)
Robyn and Kody welcomed their first child together in 2011. His birth was chronicled in an episode of Sister Wives titled “Sisters’ Special Delivery.” He has been featured on Sister Wives over the years when the show focuses on what’s going on in Kody and Robyn’s house.
Ariella Brown (born on January 10, 2016)
Robyn and Kody’s second child together, Ariella, was born in 2016. She is Kody’s 18th child. Like her siblings, Ariella has grown up in front of the cameras. During Season 19, Janelle said she felt that Kody and Robyn “mismanaged” their children because Ariella would get upset when Kody would leave to go to another wife’s house.
“He couldn’t be away for more than three or four days because Ari just gets so sad or whatever. I’m like that was poor parenting,” Janelle said. “Throughout the history of the family, the other kids did it. And they’re fine. They’re all well-adjusted adults.”
