Whitney honored her husband on their nine-year wedding anniversary in August. “I can’t imagine ever loving anyone the way I love Conner,” she wrote on Instagram. “Through everything we’ve faced, we’ve always come out stronger, side by side. I’m so proud of you babe, and so grateful I get to dance through this life with you. Here’s to us, always. Happy 9 years baby.”
However, the two did deal with some troubles in their marriage during the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. In July 2022, they moved from Utah to Hawaii to privately address their marital issues. They eventually revealed that their decision to move stemmed from the discovery of Conner’s Tinder profile, as well as his pornography addiction.
“I had a real problem and it turned into something that really hurt my wife, and I’m so sorry,” Conner said on an episode of Mormon Wives. “I’m working on myself. But yeah, I’ve reached a point where I really don’t care what anybody outside my inner circle thinks.” It was confirmed that he sent and received nude photos from women on the app, but Whitney said no physical boundaries were ever crossed.
During The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 reunion, Conner opened up about an incident in his past that shaped his future actions. “When I was a little boy, I was raped,” he shared. “And when I was finally honest with that emotion and that memory, everything made sense.”
He also said, “That was a very difficult part of my past and something I’ve worked hard to heal from. And it still hurts. I know so many people carry experiences like that, even though they may not talk about them.”
Whitney and Conner confirmed that it took a lot of therapy to get their marriage back on track, but today, they’re stronger than ever.

In April 2025, Whitney responded to rumors that she and Conner are in a lavender marriage, which is when two people agree to a heterosexual relationship to hide one or both of their sexualities. She posted a video of them dancing in the kitchen together with the text, “Proof this isn’t a lavender marriage.”
She also discussed the rumors about Conner’s sexuality on an episode of the Off the Vine podcast. “Do I need to put out a sex tape, or something? Like, trust me. We’re good. Everything’s fine,” Whitney insisted.
