Elizabeth Hurley Shares Rare Update About Billy Ray Cyrus Relationship on ‘Today’

Elizabeth Hurley gave fans some rare insight into her relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus.
“What has this new love been like for you?” Jenna Bush Hager asked Hurley on the Wednesday, October 1, episode of Today With Jenna & Friends. The actress replied, “I was by myself for quite a long time, for nearly 10 years. I really just didn’t fall in love with anybody. So, it’s been, actually, fabulous. It’s really nice. It’s sort of a new chapter.”
Hurley went on to note that dating someone who is also in the entertainment industry is beneficial to their relationship. “I think if you’re both creative, you’re both a little more understanding about when work comes first, and you’re very tunnel-visioned and very focused,” she explained. “But the other good thing for us is we both really love the country. We love nature.”
Hurley also shared that Cyrus recently spent four months with her in England, during which they “hardly left the house.” She added, “It was fabulous.”
Hurley has promised to spend time with Cyrus in the U.S., as she told Bush Hager and guest host Sheryl Crow, “I’m gonna be coming to Nashville.”
Hurley was previously married to Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011. She got engaged to Shane Warne the year of her divorce, but the couple eventually split in 2013. The Royals star also shares her son, Damian, 23, with her late ex Steve Bing.
Billy Ray, meanwhile, was previously married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. He tied the knot with singer Firerose in 2023, but the two called it quits one year later.
Hurley confirmed her romance with the singer via Instagram on April 20. “Happy Easter ♥️,” she captioned a photo of Billy Ray kissing her on the cheek. The couple has shared several pictures of each other on their respective Instagram accounts over the past few months, with Billy Ray even calling Hurley “the love of my life” in a June birthday tribute.
Hurley’s latest Instagram upload with Billy Ray was also a celebratory birthday post. “Happy Birthday Squirrel Man ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she captioned pics of the pair on August 25.
While Hurley gushed about her relationship on Jenna & Friends, her main reason for appearing on the NBC morning show was to continue raising awareness for breast cancer through her three-decade-long partnership with Estée Lauder.
“It’s meant, actually, the world to me, to be involved in the world of breast cancer. And over the 30 years, it’s been interesting because every year, unfortunately, I’ve personally known people who’ve been diagnosed in between the Octobers when, you know, I’m on TV talking about awareness and fundraising,” she stated. “And I think I’ve really learned that some of the best messaging we can give is always to temper the good news with the bad news because they go hand in hand. And the bad news is that one in eight women in America are still diagnosed with breast cancer, and they don’t all make it. That’s tempered with the good news that awareness is so high.”
Hurley continued, “Women are much more breast aware. Mortality rates have decreased by 44 percent since we started the campaign. And treatments are better, diagnosis is better, we’re learning more about, perhaps, preventative measures. So, there’s good and bad news, but what hasn’t changed is that we still need to raise funds to get more research, to have better results, and to keep women breast aware.”
