Bridgerton‘s fourth season is steadily approaching as Netflix continues to tease fans with little breadcrumbs surrounding the love story of the second-eldest son, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), and his Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

Unlike Season 3’s leading couple, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), both of whom have starred in the show since Season 1, this latest chapter returns to form by introducing a new character as a leading love interest. But finding Sophie at Thompson’s Benedict had to capture the magic fans feel when reading Julia Quinn’s An Offer From a Gentleman, which builds on themes often found in a Cinderella story.

Luckily, that magic was felt when Thompson and the team for Netflix’s Shondaland hit encountered Ha. The star who has featured in TV shows such as Dune: ProphecyHalo, and The Survivors, will step into Sophie’s silver shoes for the Season 4 masquerade and find herself in a maid’s uniform when her fantasy night out in the Ton comes to a close.

Speaking to Elle, Ha revealed that the connection between herself and Thompson was palpable through Zoom, where they did their chemistry read for the season. “When Luke talks about it, he’s like, ‘Yeah, I definitely felt something with you.'”

Despite her casting being a clear vote of confidence, Ha shared that she was still anxious about stepping into the TV universe based on Quinn’s books following three seasons of world-building. “Being the newcomer is always quite nerve-wracking, and you just want to make sure you fit in and bring in a nice vibe,” Ha shared. But the nerves were unnecessary, as Ha revealed her costars “welcomed me in from the beginning” and “never made me feel like an outsider.”

This echoes sentiments Ha shared with Swooon last October, “It’s just been really wonderful,” Ha gushed at the time. “There genuinely isn’t a bad thing to say… and it made me realize, ‘Oh, maybe this is why Bridgerton is so successful,’ because everyone is just so collaborative and they listen. Everyone’s there to support you and your journey and also care about your mental health and well-being, just spiritually and physically.”

She also shared, “Working with Luke has really been wonderful, and I can’t wait to do more stuff with him.” Filming on Season 4 wrapped in June 2025, and episodes are set to arrive in 2026. Stay tuned to see Ha and Thompson’s onscreen chemistry when Bridgerton Season 4 finally arrives, and keep an eye out for more teases in the months to come.
