Who Is Rachel Jeffs’ Husband? All About Brandon Blackmore & Their Family

Rachel Jeffs Blackmore’s harrowing story is the center of the new Lifetime Ripped From the Headlines movie, Surviving My Father: The Rachel Jeffs Story, which premieres on October 4. The film is based on her memoir, Breaking Free: How I Escaped Polygamy, the FLDS Cult, and My Father, Warren Jeffs.
Rachel is the daughter of Warren Jeffs, the polygamist cult leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She escaped the cult in 2014 and has since built a new life for herself with her husband and their kids. Scroll down to learn more about her husband and the loving family they’ve created despite the odds.
Who is Rachel Jeffs married to?
Rachel is married to Brandon Blackmore. They wed in 2017. Rachel and Brandon were raised in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and later escaped their separate sects.
“As I watched her walk down the aisle, I couldn’t believe that I was actually standing there watching such a beautiful lady coming to marry a guy like me. And it was almost in disbelief,” Brandon told NBC News in 2017 after their wedding. They live in Idaho with their blended family.
Who was Rachel Jeffs’ first husband?
Rachel was forced into an arranged polygamist marriage with Richard Allred. Her first husband is still a member of FLDS. “I was very, very scared. I was shaken,” Rachel said on Megyn Kelly TODAY in 2017. “The morning of the wedding, he [Warren Jeffs] said, ‘Rachel, come talk to me.’ And I went into his office and he said, ‘I want you to ask for a baby tonight. I want you to ask your husband for a baby tonight. I want you to get close fast.'”
She continued, “I had a hard time, and I was like, ‘Do I have to?’ and he said, ‘Yes, I want you to do this, promise me.'”
Rachel gave some insight into her first marriage in 2023. “I didn’t marry the guy of my choice; I was given to an already married man. Luckily he wasn’t an 80 year old. He was young and beautiful and gave me lovely kids,” Rachel wrote on Instagram. “His self righteousness and fear kept him in the darkness, which in the end worked out for me because I wasn’t for the polygamy thing and the kids don’t have to deal with his beliefs.”
Does Rachel Jeffs have kids?
Yes, she has five kids from her first marriage: Ember Rose, Majasa Gold, Riston Aaro, Auvynli Koa (also goes by Lavinder), and Tannum Roick. Rachel and Brandon have welcomed two sons since getting married: Tason Badge and Tymber Kove. Brandon also has four children from his first marriage.

Rachel’s daughter, Ember, is now married with a daughter, making Rachel a grandmother for the first time.
What happened to Rachel Jeffs?
During his time as leader of the polygamist cult, Warren had nearly 80 wives and dozens were under the age of 17. Rachel has been open about how her father began to sexually abuse her when she was eight years old.
After Warren was arrested and convicted in 2011 of two counts of sexual abuse against a minor, Rachel escaped FLDS with her children in 2014. She told Business Insider that her sister experiencing sexual abuse at the hands of their father gave her the push to leave the cult. “That really gave me the peace I needed, that I don’t have to stay here, I can leave,” she said.
Warren is serving a life sentence for his crimes. Today, Rachel is dedicated to being an advocate for former FLDS members and bringing awareness to sex trafficking in religious extremism.
