‘The Golden Bachelor’ Preview: Nicolle Takes Credit for Mel’s Surprise Treat (VIDEO)
The ladies on Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor have been getting to know Mel Owens better after the first three weeks of filming, and they put their knowledge to the test in Swooon‘s exclusive sneak peek of the Wednesday, October 8, episode.
In the preview (above), the women team up to make Mel dessert, but one of the ladies finds herself having to handle most of the work — or does she?
“Today we’re having a tailgate party instead of a cocktail party, and Mel mentioned that his favorite dessert is anything lemon,” Nicolle Kate explains. “So a few of us thought maybe we should try making him lemon bars.”
As the process continues, Nicolle claims that she’s doing all the work, even though you see the other women in the kitchen helping out. “I had to kind of take over because I realized no one was really doing it and it was all on me, actually,” she says. “I definitely put the most work in.”
Taking all the credit only ostracizes her from the group. At one point, Gerri Flowers asks, “Where’s Nicolle?” and someone responds, “She’s in the jacuzzi.” The cameras then cut to Nicolle in the hot tub with a face mask on and not making the lemon bars.
So far, Nicolle has rubbed some of the other women the wrong way because of her over-the-top PDA with Mel in front of everyone. She also earned extra time with him after he declared her the winner of last week’s group date, which was a comedy roast.
The season began with 23 women hoping to fall in love with Mel, but now only nine remain. This week’s episode will feature a one-on-one date for Mel and one lucky lady, while the other eight women will be on a group date with the former NFL star. The night will culminate in a rose ceremony after the tailgate party.
