Will There Be ‘Beyond the Villa’ Season 2? Kendall Washington Talks Future of ‘Love Island’ Spinoff

Love Island has created its fair share of spinoffs, but Love Island: Beyond the Villa was the first of its kind. The first season followed the Love Island USA Season 6 cast a year after they became famous, navigating their friendships, romances, and day-to-day lives.
Since its eighth and final episode dropped on August 28, there’s been no news regarding whether Beyond the Villa will return for another season. In the interim, there’s also been a major development: JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez split. As the fate of the show hangs in the balance, we asked their costar, Kendall Washington, for an update.
“I’m not sure if there’s going to be another season,” Kendall told Swooon shortly after his elimination from Love Island Games Season 2. About a month after Beyond the Villa rolled out its final episode, Kendall was headed to Fiji, more interested in forming a romantic connection than money. (He was successful, though he and Garbi Denteh haven’t yet made their relationship official as far as we know.)
When we caught up with Kendall on October 2, he felt “Love Island-ed out” for the time being and was looking forward to spending some time at home, but he’s not opposed to filming a second season of Beyond the Villa.
“I think they’d probably change a couple of things about the format,” he explained. “Season 1 felt kind of like a trial run, and it was kind of choppy at times, but I still enjoyed it because I got to be with a lot of my Season 6 cast, which, any excuse to see all those good friends that I made in one place, I’m not going to shut it down. Get everyone back in L.A., like Kaylor [Martin] and Nay Nay [JaNa], hopefully Rob [Rausch].”
The latter didn’t appear in Season 1. He was filming The Traitors Season 4 at the time, although on social media, Rob apparently stated that “the only reason” he didn’t do it was because he doesn’t live in Los Angeles. “Like, what do you want me to do? Just show up and say, ‘Hey, this is my life. I live here for eight weeks,'” he said on social media, per People.
Kendall concluded, “So if things change the next time around, I’ll be open to it for sure.”
The update comes around the same time fans have started theorizing that Beyond the Villa will move onto the Love Island USA Season 7 cast. During an Advertising Week panel this week, Nic Vansteenberghe asked castmate Jeremiah Brown, “Something to come in the next few months — are you doing that thing?”
Jeremiah said he “didn’t know yet,” which Nic echoed. A fan uploaded a video of the exchange on X and received over 1,000 likes. “They alluding to s7 beyond the villa like it’s a marvel release…” they captioned the post.
