‘Love Is Blind’: Why Isn’t Jordan Keltner’s Son in Season 9?

[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers from Love Is Blind Season 9 Episodes 1-9.]
Love Is Blind‘s Jordan Keltner didn’t shy away from mentioning his son in the pods. In fact, Jordan quickly bonded with his fiancée, Megan Walerius, over the topic of his 5-year-old, Luca, who has the same type of diabetes that Megan’s late dad had.
With the latest batch of episodes out, the couple has continued to speak about Luca at length now that they’re in the real world. Megan saw Luca’s room in Jordan’s apartment in Episode 8. However, Luca still hasn’t appeared as of Episode 9. Keep reading to find out why Jordan’s son hasn’t been seen on camera thus far.
Why isn’t Jordan’s son in Love Is Blind Season 9?
In Episode 9, the cast partied together at a honky-tonk. During the women’s debrief about how things were going with their partners, Megan was asked if she’d met Luca yet. Megan responded that she was introduced to Luca’s mom, Skylar, the night before. Luca wasn’t in attendance.
The meeting went smoothly, despite Megan being nervous about the introduction. Two episodes earlier, Megan told Jordan, “I’m not worried about loving Luca. I already do love Luca. There are just so many unknowns.”
Meanwhile, at the honky-tonk, Megan described the successful meetup. “It felt like normal, maybe not family,” Megan said. “But honestly, there was no tension between them. There was no tension between us.”
She then explained that Skylar’s biggest concern was putting Luca on camera, which she and Jordan agreed they weren’t going to do. (“Which I get,” Megan tacked on.) That’s not to say the two will never meet, since Megan added that she and Luca were going to be introduced in person on Friday. This was planned after Megan told Jordan she was stressed about the unknown in Episode 7. “‘Cause what if I don’t meet him for two weeks and then we’re getting married a week later?” she asked.
While viewers likely won’t see their interaction on camera, they’ll surely get to witness everything that comes after. There’s also the fact that Luca not appearing in the show means that Megan won’t get to experience living with the 5-year-old before she and Jordan head to the altar. Will that unknown cause any problems for the couple? Only time will tell.
What has Jordan said about his son’s diabetes?
The single dad was upfront in the pods about his son’s diagnosis. Luca was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was two years old. He has an insulin pump that Jordan and his ex have to change every couple of days. “It’s so brutal to see his little arms all tracked up and his legs,” Jordan told Megan.
After the Season 9 premiere, Jordan shared a photo of himself holding Luca and wrote on Instagram, “Our hearts are feeling extra full this morning. All the kind words and personal stories about living with T1D mean the world to us. Thank you for sharing. Just keep swimming, you got this.”

Jordan has also written Dear Luca books in honor of his son. “As part of our mission, a portion of every purchase goes toward helping children with Type 1 Diabetes gain access to life-saving medication and technology. This cause is deeply personal to us, and we are proud to turn each book into a small step toward better health equity for all kids,” the website reads.
