‘O’ahu Shores’: Get a First Glimpse of the Ocean of Relationship Drama Ahead (VIDEO)
O’ahu Shores follows a tight-knit group of young Hawaiian locals, and while their friendship is the core of the show, you can also expect plenty of romance and heartbreak.
Peacock’s new reality series, which drops all six episodes on Thursday, October 9, includes eight prominent cast members. All of them are trying to balance their parents’ expectations and embrace their culture. As they navigate early adulthood, platonic and romantic relationships are put to the test.
In Swooon‘s exclusive preview from the series, Skye Baker experiences the latter with her long-distance boyfriend, whom she’s been with for six years. The show finds her at a major crossroads: move back to Guam to be with him, or stay in O’ahu where she’s made a home for herself. If she doesn’t go the first route, she might have to call it quits with her longtime significant other.
While her friends are drinking and partying inside, Skye is in the backyard crying. She’s having an emotional conversation with her boyfriend, Stephen, over the phone. Her friends go out to check on her, and once she hangs up the phone, Skye tells them tearfully that she doesn’t want to leave the island. Does that mean heartbreak is ahead, or will they find a way to make it work?

Let’s just say, Skye isn’t the only one with love life troubles. For one, Alex accidentally spreads a rumor that his ex, Rachael, cheated, but they still have to coexist in the same circle.
