It’s not completely unheard of for reality show contestants to pursue acting careers. However, in the case of the Love Island franchise, it’s not at all common. In fact, we can count the number of Islanders-turned-actors on one hand. Remember when Love Island USA Season 6’s Miguel Harichi made a cameo in Ted Lasso Season 2?

Well, another one of his castmates his following in his footsteps: Rob Rausch. When we heard that the snake wrangler was trading in reality for scripted television, we knew we had to do some investigating. Prime Video’s latest rom-com, Maintenance Required, is essentially You’ve Got Mail with cars. Instead of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, the leads are Madelaine Petsch and Jacob Scipio. So where does Rob fit into all of that?

It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss it role, but yes, Rob has a couple lines in the movie. Keep reading for a full breakdown of Rob’s role.

Is Rob Rausch in Maintenance Required?

About 44 minutes into the movie, we spotted the Love Island USA star. But first, some needed context: Petsch’s character, Charlie, is promoting her all-women mechanic shop at a vintage car show. She’s just learned that Beau (Scipio), the guy she’s been flirting with for a while, is actually a business rival.

Angry and hurt, Charlie challenges the attendees to a tire-changing contest. “Anyone think they can change a tire faster than me?” she asks the room.

“I can,” a voice says. Lo and behold, there’s Rob! Katy O’Brian‘s Kam, one of Charlie’s mechanics, passes on a drill to Rob’s unnamed character. “There you go, handsome,” she quips.

Then, it’s off to the races. Needless to say, Charlie smokes Rob’s character in under a minute. She tells him that he did a good job, which he accepts graciously with a smile. Then he just… lingers by the car and stares after Charlie, fading into the background. The unnamed challenger is never to be seen again.

Could this be the start of Rob’s acting career? We’ll have to wait and see, but first, we’ll be able to find out how he fared on The Traitors Season 4. What did you think of Rob’s rom-com cameo? Let us know in the comments below!
