Who are Julia Roberts’ kids?
Roberts and Moder welcomed twins Phinnaeus and Hazel on November 28, 2004. They expanded their family with the birth of son Henry in June 2007. For the most part, the actress and her husband do their best to keep the kids out of the public eye.
“We just want to have our family life and not have that intruded upon,” Roberts told USA Today in 2013. However, they have started to post their kids on social media sporadically, including a rare photo on Moder’s page for Mother’s Day 2025.

As of fall 2025, Roberts and Moder are officially empty nesters, with all three of their children now away at college. “I love hanging out with them and spending time with them,” she said during an October appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “Fortunately, we have had lots of visits along the way of this empty nest.”
She also said on the Today show that she’s still a hands-on parent, even when the kids are away.
“I parent them the same way out of the house that I parented them in the house, which is ‘Are you getting enough sleep? You sound like you’re sick, are you drinking enough tea? Text me when you get home. I can see that you’re home safe and sound,'” she shared. “And I have immense amount of appreciation for both of my older kids because they still allow me to be the same mom to them and it’s not eye-rolling. There’s a huge amount of understanding.”
How old was Julia Roberts when she had her kids?
When Roberts gave birth to the twins, she was 37 years old. At the time, it was rumored that she used IVF to conceive the twins, but her rep denied those reports, according to People.
When Henry was born, Roberts was 39, just four months shy of her 40th birthday in October.
Are Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts related?
While Emma Roberts is not Julia’s daughter, the women are related. Julia is Emma’s aunt. Emma’s father, Eric Roberts, is Julia’s older brother.
