Will ‘Bridgerton’ Season 5 Be the Sexiest Season Yet? Shonda Rhimes Says…
Bridgerton‘s fourth season is nearly here, but executive producer Shonda Rhimes is already teasing Season 5 of the Netflix hit as she promotes the 10th anniversary edition of her Year of Yes book.
Rhimes, who heads up Shondaland, sat down for an interview with Sirius XM’s Radio Andy co-host Bevy Smith, where she spilled some seriously steamy teases for the chapter set to follow Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie’s (Yerin Ha) love story. When asked about the show, Rhimes clarified, “I just finished editing Season 4. It’ll come out January 29th, working with our editors on that. And then Season 5, the writers were in the writer’s room working on that. So I know what Season 5 is all about from beginning to end.”
In other words, she knows which love story is next in the lineup, which is something fans are eager to uncover as the show tends to deviate from the book order of Julia Quinn’s novels, upon which the show Bridgerton is based. “I can’t tell you anything,” Rhimes added when Smith pushed for further information about who might be next.

While Rhimes didn’t reveal details on that end, she did offer, “I will say this, like it is a really sexy season, Season 5. But then again, I say that about Season 4. But they’re just sexy in different ways. And I think that’s what’s great.”
Could Season 5 be the show’s sexiest season yet? Rhimes’ sentiments seem to hint at the possibility. Until then, fans have Benedict and Sophie’s romance to look forward to as Rhimes shared, “The characters in Season 4 are riveting and you know, it’s Benedict, so I think it’s gonna be really enjoyable for the audience.”
As for speculation about who is at the center of this “really sexy season,” if the show were to follow Quinn’s book order, that would mean Eloise (Claudia Jessie) would be up next in the lineup, but there’s also a chance that Francesca’s (Hannah Dodd) story could unfold next. Only time will tell for certain. Let us know what you think of Rhimes’ Season 5 tease, and keep an eye out for Season 4 updates in the weeks ahead.
