‘Married at First Sight’ Preview: Rhonda Forget Her Husband’s Name After Their Wedding (VIDEO)
Just one more sleep until Married at First Sight begins!
Swooon has an exclusive first look at Season 19, which comes after the reality series moved homes from Lifetime to Peacock. The premise remains the same: Singles decide to marry a complete stranger at the altar and take eight weeks to figure out if they want to stay together or split.
This time around, the 10 participants hail from Austin, Texas. Among the couples are Pat and Rhonda, and they have an unfortunate situation shortly after their nuptials — Rhonda forgets her husband’s name!
The preview, which you can watch at the top of the page, shows the newlyweds getting to know each other and touching base about how they feel about getting married. When Rhonda asks her partner about the last time he was married, Pat explains that he’s been divorced for five years. “I wasn’t sure I would do this again, but I long for it,” he continues. “I long for the adventures and all of that. I just love having fun, and I love living life fully.”
His comment brings a smile to Rhonda’s face, prompting her to pull him in for a hug. She assures Pat that they’re going to have so much fun together. “There’s absolutely chemistry with my husband,” the 63-year-old performance marketing exec says. “I have a husband!”
Shortly after their exchange, Rhonda says, “I have a confession to make: I forgot your name. Isn’t that horrible?”
The two break out into laughter, with Rhonda hardly able to explain why she couldn’t recall that important detail. Giggling in a separate interview, Rhonda says that she was so caught up in Pat’s eyes and face that his name slipped her mind. (Pat, a 59-year-old space operations consultant, confirms that his name is “Patric without a ‘k.'”)
“This is what happens when you have a 63-year-old on the show,” she admits. Their marriage comes after Rhonda’s been on a 25-year search for love, having been twice married and raised four kids. Pat was married for 30 years, but got a divorce once he became an empty-nester. Tune in tomorrow to see the beginning of Rhonda and Pat’s Married at First Sight journey.
